1. Charlestown
This is the capital city, rich with historical buildings such as the national museum, Berkeley’s Memorial, and St. George’s Anglican Church.
- The first Anglican Church in the Caribbean, and the oldest church on Nevis, St. Thomas’ was built in 1643. It is located on the main road about three miles north of Charlestown, and was built to serve the town of Jamestown, the island’s original capital that disappeared.
3. Museum of Nevis History
This two-story Georgian-style building was the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton in 1757. Hamilton lived on the island until the age of nine. Later in his life, he helped draft the U.S. Constitution and was the first Secretary of the Treasury.
4. Nevis Hot Springs
At the hot springs in Bath Village, you can still enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the springs today. Nearby is the site of Bath Hotel, the first luxury hotel in the West Indies, built in 1778.
5. Bath Hotel
Built in 1778, the Bath Hotel was once a playground for the rich and famous who came to Nevis to enjoy the therapeutic hot spring baths. Guests would arrive by ship from throughout the West Indies and Europe for this pleasurable experience.
6. Pinney’s Beach
Here we stop at the beautiful Pinney’s Beach, where you can take a swim if you choose or enjoy a nice lunch on the beach at the world-renowned Sunshine’s Beach Bar and try the famous Killer Bee.
7. Sunshine’s Restaurant
Relax on the beach at the island’s most famous beach bar.
