Grab your camera and get ready - such landscapes are not to be found everywhere… While Santorini has several of the sort, Red Beach’s landscape is truly unique: Dark blue waters, with the mountain towering above them, crimson and black, combining a unique landscape. This interesting and special morphological character puts the Red Beach among the fascinating shores in the world.

Pyrgos

Pyrgos is a medieval ornament and dominates a hill overlooking Santorini from side to side, from Santorini to Oia. It is a casteli still preserving the traits of the Venetian Empire, sowed with churches and ruins, breathing a strong sense of power and prosperity.

Fira

Around 260 metres from sea level, Fira seems to wear their whites and scramble up the cliff to win the admiration of each visitor. The unique position of the Fira offers an astounding view of the new and old Kameni. Your tour will start from the Theotokopoulos central square, with its many cafe bars, while, a bit further, a street lined with luxurious jeweller shops stretches before you, promising experiences made from diamonds!

Oia

It lies around 30 minutes by road from Firostefani, and it will truly bewitch you since being indeed overwhelming. The main road divides it into two territories: the one, towards Caldera, has impressive underground edifices, while the other is adorned with captain-houses (capetanospita). At the settlement’s side lies the castle, with its remaining parts offering unique views of the infinite blue and the famous sunset.

Red Beach

Prepare your camera, as sceneries like this are hard to come by… Although several places in Santorini boast impressive landscapes, Red Beach stands out with its distinctive features:

Sitting atop a hill, Pyrgos serves as a medieval marvel, serving panoramic views of Santorini, from one end to another, from Santorini to Oia. The traits of the Venetian Empire are still preserved in this castle, which is dotted with churches and ruins, exuding an aura of strength and prosperity.

Fira garners attention with its white-clad buildings climbing the cliffside, capturing the awe of every visitor. The unique geographical positioning of Fira enables a breathtaking view of the new and old Kameni.

Oia The main road bifurcates it into two areas: one towards Caldera features striking subterranean buildings, while the other is graced with captain-houses (capetanospita). Adjacent to the settlement is the castle, the remnants of which provide unparalleled views of the vast blue sea and the renowned sunset.

This Private day tour is a MUST! - Everything! Our tour guide Vaggelis was so great! He picked us up at the airport and took us everywhere we wanted to see, as well as many other wonderful places we didn’t know were there. He knew how to get around the busy tourist traps so we could make the most of our time with him. He drove us all over the island and also allowed us time to do some shopping. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was easy to understand. At the end of our tour he dropped us off at the ferry dock so we could catch our ferry to Mykonos. It was a pleasure spending the morning with Vaggelis. We would highly recommend this tour and would definitely do it again.

Best Tour of Santorini we could have asked for - We organised our transfer through Pigaia travel from the airport to Kamari (I will leave a separate review of this but it was exceptional). We received a message to say that if we had any other requirements, we could ask and find out how much the tours were. Our tour guide was Zafeiris who had exceptional knowledge of the island. We were picked up on time, had water for the day and were taken around in comfort. We told him the places we wanted to go. We opted to leave Oia and Fira for another trip as we had things booked later in the week which meant we have 4 hours to explore the south of the island. It was the perfect amount of time to see everything. We went to the lighthouse, akrotiri, megalachori, red beach, pyrgos and a few churches. We were also taken to some of Zafeiris favourite views like the heart. We had as much time in each location as we wanted and on our approach back to Kamari we stopped in to a winery and tasted some local wines. This was all included in the price. We were a group of 4 and the price for a private tour compared to the organised bus tour was the same per person. Pigaia travel are reasonably priced and have an excellent service. Any questions sent via whatsapp or email were answered promptly so you don't have to worry about a thing. Loved it and would recommend it to every traveller wanting to see Santorini.

4 Hours in Santorini - Niklos was a great tour guide. His background in history and philosophy made for great discussion. We saw as much as possible in 4 hours despite the crowds.
