Highlights
  • Halong Bay - A UNESCO World Heritage site and a true natural marvel, Halong Bay features over 3,000 limestone karsts that rise majestically from serene emerald waters. The bay’s islands house hundreds of stunning caves, including well-known ones like Thien Cung, Dau Go, Sung Sot, Tam Cung, and Bo Nau. Some caves, such as Soi Nhu, Me Cung, Tien Ong, Thien Long, Hang Trong, and Trinh Nu, are archaeological sites preserving evidence of the Soi Nhu and Ha Long prehistoric cultures. The name Ha Long Bay translates to “Bay of Descending Dragons.”
  • Sung Sot Cave - Located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage area, Sung Sot or Surprise Grotto is on Bo Hon Island and is one of Ha Long Bay’s most impressive and expansive grottoes. The path to the grotto is lined with trees and foliage and consists of large paved stone blocks. Inside, the grotto is divided into two chambers; the first resembles a vast theater hall with numerous stalactites hanging from the high ceiling in various shapes. A narrow passage leads to the second chamber, where a stream of light greets visitors. This immense chamber can accommodate thousands of people at once. At the grotto’s deepest point, a “royal garden” emerges with a clear pond and a captivating landscape of mountains. Many birds and plants, including benjamin figs, cycads, and ancient banyan trees, thrive here. On pleasant days, groups of monkeys may come in search of fruit.
  • Hang Luon Cave - Luon Cave captivates tourists with its stunning natural scenery, where the colors of the water, clouds, and sky blend harmoniously. Each rock and tree stump is flawless. This cave is a gift from Mother Nature to Ha Long.
  • Ti Top Island - About 7-8 km southeast of Bai Chay lies the small Ti Top Island, featuring a crescent moon-shaped beach with sand washed to a snowy white by the tide. On November 22, 1962, astronaut Ghermann Titov, a hero of the former Soviet Union, visited this tiny island with Ho Chi Minh. To commemorate their visit, Uncle Ho named the place Ti Top Island. It has since become a popular beach for tourists, offering various services.
  • Trinh Nu Beach - Nestled in the heart of Halong Bay within the picturesque Bo Hon Archipelago is Trinh Nu Cave, also known as the “Virgin Cave.” Located just 3 km southeast of Sung Sot Cave, a visit to Trinh Nu Cave combines the enchanting natural beauty of Halong Bay with the charming folklore of Vietnamese heritage.
  • Lan Ha Bay - Situated south of Halong Bay off Vietnam’s northeastern coast, the approximately 300 karst islands and limestone outcrops of Lan Ha are as stunning as those of its famous neighbor but feel more secluded and untouched. Lan Ha also boasts numerous white-sand beaches, which are not found in Halong.

The best boat by far! - The boat was so modern. We were the 2nd best boat on the water next to the giant cruise boat. However there were way more people on that one so this was better in my opinion. Peter the tour guide checked in on us all through out the day, was so engaging, shared a lot of information about Vietnam and made the trip very enjoyable. The lunch on the boat was great! We were even given oysters. The bay was stunning, there were lots of activities to do throughout the day and there is a jacuzzi on the boat. FYI there are a LOT of people in the water to go swimming in the island stop so if you don’t want to be swimming with hundreds of people you’ll want to stay on the boat in the jacuzzi for an hour as the boat leaves the harbor after drop off and comes back an hour later. If you’re off the boat you’re off for the hour. Bring a jumper for the limo back at night if you get cold easily as the air mcon is on even at night time. However some might find that perfect. Can’t bring plastic bottles into the bay (government rules) so bring a bottle of water in glass or metal if you don’t want to purchase water. However everything is so reasonably priced it’s easy enough to get it on site.

Convenient transfer service - The transfer service between Hanoi and Halong Bay was convenient with a prompt 8 am pick up. The bus was clean and spacious. However, the second rest stop felt like a tourist trap, and was unnecessary. We reached our cruise terminal slightly after 11:30 am. It's worth noting that you share the bus with other passengers heading to board the Arcady cruise, feeling more like hitching a ride.

Ha Long Bay tour guide - Our day started off perfect being picked up by Jack and the driver. We then went on our bus drive to the harbour, and Jack was highly knowledgeable with everything Vietnam based. We got to understand the culture and its traditions better than we did before. We took the boat to Ha Long Bay, and once again Jack made sure to pass down information to all off the tour group thus helping everyone be informed of everything we were going to do! In all honesty once of a lifetime experience. We felt like Jack was the best tour guide, and if I could rate him higher I would. Well done to everyone involved but Jack you really made our day special. Càm ón

The Best of Ha Long Bay - Our guide Jack was so knowledgeable from start to finish. He gave us time to enjoy the sights and get the best photo opportunities. The tour was very well organised and I loved the included buffet and afternoon snack. You never felt rushed and Jack gave us plenty of warning for departure time. He made sure everyone got back on the boat on time and I heard he even has a good track record for never leaving a guest behind! I felt we got to see the best of ha long Bay and we had the perfect guide to show us everything. Thank you Jack!

Good way to go to Ha Long but not enough care with the luggage - Limousine bus was nice with a bottle of water offered. It took us 4 hours to reach our hotel from our pick-up point. The bus space for luggage wasn't adequate enough and hence the bus driver had to push them through leading to scratches to our luggage (worse than when the bag comes out of a plane). We even messaged them in advance to ensure there was enough space and they confirmed that all our stuff will fit in the bus. Also, our soft shell bag came out wet.
