Arrive in Tirana, Albania

Tirana - Upon your arrival at the airport, a Smart Tour Albania representative will be there to escort you to your hotel. Later, we will embark on a walking tour of the city’s most famous landmarks, including Scanderbeg Square, The Clock Tower, and the Mosque of Tirana. We will also stroll through the Blloku district before dining at a lovely restaurant and then returning to the hotel for the night.
Optional:
After dinner, you can enjoy a drink in “Blloku” – once the district of the communist elite, it is now the best place for the best bars. If you arrive earlier in the day, you can visit the national museum.

Tirana - Valbona

Valbona - Today, we will head towards northern Albania. Our journey begins in Tirana, where we will take a van to Komani Lake, an artificial lake, which is a 3-hour drive away. At around 9 am, we will board a ferry that offers spectacular views of the Drini Valley, stopping in Fierza. From there, we will take another van to Valbona village and transfer to our welcoming guesthouse.

We will enjoy a delicious lunch featuring traditional village dishes. Later, we will have the opportunity to walk around the village, experience the real life of the locals, and embark on an adventurous journey along the village’s bumpy roads to start a short walk to the waterfall. Dinner will be a home-cooked meal prepared at the guesthouse.

The pass from Valbona to Theth

Theth - Today, we will begin our hike along one of the most iconic paths of the Albanian Alps, the pass from Valbona to Theth. We will start early in the morning from Valbona village and head to Gjelaj village, where our hike will commence.
During our trek, we will have the chance to refresh ourselves with the cold water from the springs along our path. We will descend from Qafe – Valbone to Thethi village. The path is in the heart of the Alps, near Jezerca and Radohima. The descent will offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains in Theth, a well-known village for hikers. After 7 hours of walking, we will enjoy a well-deserved rest and a delicious dinner at one of the traditional guesthouses.

Exploring Thethi

Theth National Park - Today, we will explore one of the most captivating villages in northern Albania, known for its untouched nature and numerous attractions.
Our first stop will be at Grunasi Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Albania. From there, we will visit Grunasi canyon, and then take a van to the naturally formed stone bathtubs.
We will also visit the breathtaking Blue Eye spring, one of two in Albania, located right in the middle of the mountains in Theth. After this wonderful exploration of Thethi, we will have the chance to savor their traditional cuisine once again.

Visiting Shkodra and back in Tirana

Shkoder - Visiting Shkoder offers the privilege of experiencing the ancient history of Albania. Located in a wide plain, about thirty miles from the sea, Shkoder is closely associated with water: the great lake to the southwest, the Drini river to the east, the Kiri river among the mountains, and the Buna river to the south. Our first visit will be to Rozafa Castle, which is linked to a legend about a human sacrifice made during its construction. We will then take a walk through Shkodra city.
