Highlights
  • Mount Fuji - Enjoy the majestic view of Mt Fuji from several photo spots!

  • Arakurayama Sengen Park - One of the most desirable destinations around Mt. Fuji. You can get an awesome picture of Mt. Fuji with the Chureito Pagoda (1st picture on this listing). I’m not going to lie, it’s a bit of a climb lol

  • Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine - This is the shrine located at the base of the park. This shrine is for the goddess of fire, one of the smaller shrines out at Fuji.
You thought the 2 minute climb up here was bad? Nah mate, still like 300 steps to climb to get to the view haha

  • Chureito Pagoda - Now this is what we’re all here for! Fantastic view of Mt Fuji and the village! There’s something here for each season so I expect to see you back here in 3 months haha
least walking downhill isn’t too tiring

  • Fujisan World Heritage Center(Mt.Fuji World Heritage Center) - Here you can learn about the history of Fuji and its culture.
But I mean… We are literally at Mt Fuji…. Don’t worry I tell the history and culture better anyway, best we skip this one hey?

  • Lake Kawaguchiko - A quiet lake, great for taking in the scenery and getting amazing photos! Is what I would say if the Japanese didn’t come here on the weekends on their jetskis lol
    Still good though

  • Oishi Park - Beautiful park by Kawaguchiko Lake with an astonishing variety of flowers. Best known for its lavenders.
If I had an ounce of romance in me, this is where I’d go for a romantic

  • Fuji Oishi Hana Terrace - Ice cream Ice cream Ice cream. That’s all you need to know.

Just in case you wanted some more info, its right next to the garden.

  • Saiko Lake - Japanese people fish here. It’s one of the 5 lakes surrounding Mt Fuji. Honestly, not too much to see here, let’s just do a quick drive-by.
  • Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine - A shrine built for a new era of Fuji worship. This place is brimming with historic importance.
Where is the line between genuine religion and a cult?
Sorry got distracted for a sec. Anyways, this is where some people start climbing Mt Fuji!
  • Oshino Hakkai - From nature to a traditional village, they have it all here.
  • Ide Sake Brewery - This one’s simple. Do you like Sake? Yes? Awesome.
Here you can do a tasting of Sake and Whiskey.
Feel the power of Mt Fuji as you sip on alcohol made with melted snow water!
  • Lake Yamanaka - This is my personal favorite lake. Less people on jetskis, more quiet walk by the lake;)
  • Mt. Fuji 5th Station - Right. 5th station. Great for viewing the tip of Mt Fuji if we can’t see anything from the town as it’s a lot higher in elevation. Some decent shops for getting souvenirs. Great views all round. It snows a fair bit during winter, but don’t worry we don’t have polar bears in Japan.

Yet.

  • Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway - It’s a cable car. Rope way=Cable car. now, with that out the way, it’s quite nice. We can get a fabulous view of the two major cities and Kawaguchiko Lake, not to mention Mt Fuji. There is a pair of swings at the top of a hill up there that makes for a great picture!
  • Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - One of the old villages near Mt Fuji. Great place if you want some pics in kimonos and samurai gear, they have them for rent! Mt Fuji view, old Japanese buildings plus lots of things to see and do.
  • Fugaku Wind Cave - Easy difficulty: There are 2 sections where you need to crouch a bit but nothing too bad. This cave is slightly warmer than the Ice cave.
  • Narusawa Ice Cave - Medium difficulty: There are a few places that are quite low, 3 feet/1 meter ish? This is the coldest of the 3 caves.
  • Saiko Bat Cave - Hard difficulty: This is the cave with the lowest sections. They make you wear a helmet. This is the most adventurous of the 3 caves.
  • Gotemba Premium Outlets - Want to save big on brand names? This is the perfect spot for it;) (Free option)

Additional Information

Hello, I’m Kye. Originally from Japan, I’m half Australian and a semi-professional photographer always ready with a quip. Navigating through Japan is exciting, yet at times, it could prove to be difficult. My aim is to make your journey easier, more pleasant and, undoubtedly, unforgettable!

On our route to Mt Fuji, we will explore some amazing sites, tailoring the trip to best suit your preferences. I have suggested some possibilities in our example itinerary. However, please be aware that we won’t have time to cover everything on that list. According to the basic itinerary, we are likely to cover 4-6 sites, depending on how far apart they are. On the bright side, we do offer extensions of up to 6 hours, as well as multiple-day tours throughout Japan! Just let me know your requirements:)

Regularly, I drive a 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. If you desire additional room, options to travel in a Japanese luxury van or our Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG are also available;)

Looking forward to our rendezvous soon!

Amazing tour - We had an amazing, low key day with Kye. He allowed us to customize the tour to see the sights we wanted, including a hike in Aokigahara Forest. 10/10 the best tour guide you can book for a private Fuji area tour. He even went out of his way to drop us off at Ueno Zoo vs our hotel so we didn't have to take a cab. Highly recommend if you are looking for a professional guide that you book with this company!

Great Day exploring Mt. Fuji - Thank you so much Kye for planning a great day for our family. We got to experience Mt. Fuji and all its glory from various locations. A private tour is the only way to go. The pictures you took came out great and will be displayed proudly when we get home. We will see you again on our next trip to Japan!!

An incredible day with Kye - Our day with Kye to Mount Fuji could not have been better. He went above and beyond to take us to all the places we discussed, he was in constant contact with us leading up to the day and on the day was fun, informative, easy to deal with and we absolutely enjoyed having him do all the activities with us. I could not recommend Kye highly enough. Our group was a family of 6, with a 10 and 8 year old and grandparents included and Kye catered to all our interests. Thanks for a truely wonderful day!

Circle Mt. Fuji - We were picked up at our hotel in Yokohama, with an early start around 6:00 in the morning. This gave us a clear sky, views of Mt. Fuji, and a tour up to the 5th station. We spent the day visiting gardens, waterfalls, and steaming vents. Truly a custom tour with delightful stories and history. Thank you for a wonderful full day of activities.

Enjoyable day with a great guide - Kye was a wonderful tour guide, knew lots of history and took time to explain the areas we visited. We were fortunate in that the weather was totally clear all day, and had amazing views. We opted for the vehicle upgrade, which is totally worth it, and Kye was a good driver. Be sure to bring cash with you! He recommended at least 20k Yen each. This is for snacks, entry at some locations, etc. He does stop at a rest area with Starbucks and food options about halfway there, and there are plenty of stops during the day.

Great Time in Mt Fuji - Our group of 6 had a wonderful trip to Mt Fuji and the surrounding area. We were fortunate to have Kye, who speaks English with a delightful Australian accent, as our guide. He is very knowledgeable of the local area and the optimal times to visit specific sites. Despite heavy traffic on the return to Tokyo, Kye was able to navigate local and side roads for timely return to our hotel. Will definitely recommend this tour to our friends.

Terrible experience - be weary - This was an unfortunate experience. Kye isn't transparent about the pricing and neither is Viator. Essentially, you got charged by the hour if there is traffic and there is no well planned itinerary for Mt. Fuji. The best way to describe this is as a private driver that is far more expensive than the other options on Viator or through your hotel. Very misleading and left a bad taste about Tokyo.
