Ninja wi-fi - I travelled to Japan last year for the Cherry Blossom festival covering 3 cities which included Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima. I didn’t want to use roaming due to the costs involved for the length of time of my stay. Firstly, ordering from the UK was simple and straight forward and rather than rushing about an airport, as I had JR tickets to deal with, I had the unit delivered to my hotel. The unit was at the hotel on my arrival and fully charged. It was password protected and I easily paired it to my tablet and two phones. (As long as you are relatively close buy you can use all three at the same time which was handy in markets and parks). Although the charge lasts quite a while I would recommend a power bank back up which I would use for my phone anyway. The unit worked well and never failed me anywhere that I was using it throughout my whole trip. Secondly it comes with a return bag which you seal and I dropped this off with the hotel desk staff and they arranged for it to be uplifted as part of the package. In fact the whole service was simple uncomplicated and stress free with the assurance and comfort of knowing that negotiating around Japan was made a lot easier with a Wi-Fi connection for transport , food and socialising. I would recommend using Ninja Wi-Fi to anyone travelling around Japan as I will when I return again.

Short battery life & impossible to charge... - For our Summer 2023 trip, I selected their Medium version since it was described as having a "long-lasting battery". However, the battery only lasted 6-7 hours, so we had to recharge during the day. Our unit had a loose contact and would only charge in one position (pressure on the charging connector), so recharging with a powerbank while on the move was impossible. There's no way of contacting Ninjawifi for a replacement unit (or at least I didn't find it on their website). On top of all this, after returning home I discovered that I received the Standard unit and not the Medium one. As long as the unit still had battery life, it worked well. Still cannot recommend it.

Useless waste. - After a week of travel in Tokyo and Kyoto I don’t think we managed more than maybe 20 minutes of a connection time to anything. It seems like old tech with a weak ability to pick up a signal. Over all it was a useless waste of money.
