A must on your list - Diego, our tour guide, was excellent! We were treated to tacos at 4 stops, each wonderfully different and so very yummy. On your own, you would probably not trust yourself to try street food. Diego was great at describing the food origins and the difference in taste and preparation. Tour included a stop at a fruit drink place - freshly made to order and so refreshing. The tour ended at an ice cream shop - very creamy and the best I've had. A 5 out of 5, for me.

Best food tour ever! - Angel was an amazing guide ! He was extremely knowledgeable about the culture and area . He answered all of our questions and you could tell he took great pride in the food. And future of the region . We would strongly recommend this tour and Angel to everyone!

Don't pass this up. Much more than a food tasting tour. Highly recommend! - We're Los Angeles natives, so we're already used to good Mexican food and were initially just looking at this excursion as a chance to get out of the hotel. We honestly weren't expecting anything amazing since Tulum is such a heavy tourist area. We met Angel in downtown and he explained to us that his background is actually as a professional chef. He's cooked around the world and we instantly knew we were lucky to have gotten an amazing guide. The food from the area is quite different from the northern and central Mexican food that we were accustomed to. Basic dishes that we thought we knew were made in an entirely different way, and as a full fledged chef, Angel was able to explain all of the minute differences to us. The tour was very personalized as he spent time showing us things that we were specifically interested in and even showed me tips on how to make better salsa and sauces at home, right in one of the kitchens! Every dish that I thought I knew was shown to me in a whole new light and I learned about a few new dishes and drinks as well. Some food that we thought we wouldn't like, we ended up loving! Our only advice is to pace yourself on food as you'll be eating a lot! Even apart from the food portion of the tour, Angel gave us tons of insight into Tulum, local culture, trees and plants, and even a quick lesson in Mayan language! Just on one street we saw almond, cotton, tamarind, and mango trees and was able to pick and taste some right there! This was definitely more than just a food tasting tour, but also a culinary, culture, nature, and full blown city tour as well. Thanks to Angel, this ended up being one of the best highlights of our trip and one of the best tours we've ever been on period. Highly recommend

Great food, great information and a lot of fun - The Tulum Walking food tour was amazing, great food, great information and a wonderful guide. Luis was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I would totally recommend this tour, bring your appetite and a good pair of walking shoes :)
