A must do in Tulum / Akumal area. - Firstly, a huge thank you to Axel and his partner for a great trip on the 8th June. We loved every moment! The your starts with a hotel pickup followed by transfer to Tulum Ruins. It is very hot there so be prepared to sweat while walking around the ruins. Fantastic scenery, a lot of history and a memorable place. Tequila and mezcal tasting was included in the shop at the end of the tour. 2nd activity was cenote/cave swim and it was so refreshing and Fantastic! As someone who is scared of heights and spiders I was sceptical but I was not scared at all, Axel made us feel very comfortable and at ease. It was such a great place and so nice to explore the whole cave, even experienced it in complete darkness for a moment which was magical. 3rd stop was snorkeling with turtles and we managed to see quite a few even a baby one, we got very lucky. It is also the first time I saw a puffer fish along other unusualbig and small fish species. A tip here, if you get a chance to bring your own snorkeling gear I highly recommend it although the one supplied is not bad. Lastly, you visit a beach club for a delicious lunch with soft drinks coffee and a sweet snack included. You get a moment to relax on the beach and take in the views of the sea. It is the best organised trip we've ever been on and would be very happy to do it again. Thank you, Axel and the Team. P.S. I wish I brought more cash to tip the lovely staff along the way.

This excursion combined with the driver and guide was the best we have ever done!! - Jacob and JoseRamon were AMAZING!! We were treated like honored guests to Tulum and not just customers! They went above and beyond in every way to make us and the whole group! They taught us about the culture while ensuring we had fun and each experience delivered! We learned at the ruins and the cenote excursions all while having fun! The two beaches were amazing as we saw squids, fish, stingrays and sea turtles then had a great meal and cold drinks a a beautiful private beach club!!

Great Tour Despite the Weather - My family and I booked this tour because it gave us so much to do in one day. Unfortunately the weather did not allow for us to snorkel at akumal beach to see the sea turtles. Super windy and rainy week in Tulum. Tulum ruins was well organized and beautiful. A little more free time without the tour guide would have been prefect. The cenote tour was the best part of the whole day. Our guide, Paulina, was awesome and her love and amazement for this beautiful place really helped us to appreciate the unique experience. One note: this tour company does not allow you to take your cell phones into the cenote. They have a prfessional photographer who takes group/family shots and the cost to buy the package is $60. No way to use a credit card so make sure you bring cash to get the package. Nowhere in the tour description does it state this. We snorkeled in the YelHa lagoon in Akumal instead of the ocean turtles experience and it was nice. Saw lots of tropical fish. The lunch at the beach club was at the end and delicious. Very late lunch so pack lots of extra snacks. Tour provided cooler full of bottles of water and cookies as a snack.

EXPENSIVE - you could do the trip yourself - We booked the tour to go to Tulum, Cenote swimming and Swimming with turtles at the hotel with the TUI rep. We got picked up from the hotel on a minibus, no issues with the transport and the driver was good. Tour guide Jareth. We had appropriate breaks for restrooms/toilets on the way to Tulum. At Tulum there was a short tour with a tour guide I would say 45 minutes. Then we had an hour free time which was fine. We then left to go to the Cenote swimming and on the way the tour guide Jareth told us no mobile phones. Firstly, this is the first time we were told this information and we had never heard of this before. We have travelled to Mexico, booked an expensive tour and obviously we all wanted to take photographs. Others on the tour had go pros and similar and we were told no. Apparently this decision has been made by Cancun Adventures and to no surprise this is a money making decision. At the cenote there was photographers taking photos inside the Cenote for the groups. I expressed my disappointment to Jareth and said I wanted to take my phone to which he said I would not be allowed in. I left my phone in the van as requested and we swam in the cenote which was very good experience and enjoyable. Good amount of time in the cenote. There was a sign that Cancun adventures had put up to state no phones - not difficult to pop a sign up. We had the photographs taken as we wanted to remember the experience. The photographer was in one spot in the corner of the Cenote and when we asked for additional photos we were told no. When we went to view the photographs I almost fainted when they told us $70 US dollars for the package per individual group/couple!!!!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Furthermore, this was for a digital copy only, no printing involved. After a lot of back and forth bartering we managed to purchase all the photographs taken of all the group on our tour for $120 US dollars and then they agreed to send the photographs to three emails. We wanted 4 emails as there was 4 groups, after a lengthy discussion then agreed to send to an additional email (big task!!). However, the following day only one email address received the photographs. When we were paying the money they had no change and generally no clue at how to serve customers. They were asking for one transaction for the $120 US dollars but we were 4 different groups so we couldn’t do this and why does it matter, you are getting your money. Poor service. We then moved onto the swimming with turtles, we had snorkels and a boat took us a short distance out. This experience was VERY short like 20 minutes?! We saw a couple of turtles which was fun. Short experience. The lunch at the beach bar cafe was good, good food and good service. Coffee and chocolate afterwards. Nice views. We enjoyed the experiences overall as they were experiences we wanted to do in Mexico and bucket ticks! However, you could definitely do the trip yourself without Cancun adventures ripping you off. You could go to Tulum for $95 PESOS and then find a cenote easily & swim with the turtles. I would not recommend this specific tour with Cancun adventures to anyone. It felt quite rushed throughout the day, they are squeezing a lot in and we appreciate that the driving costs money. But Cancun adventures need to stop trying to make extra money at every opportunity - extortionate money for photographs which is only reducing the money we have left for tips. You’re quick to ask for tips at every opportunity but where is the good customer service and good gestures for the customers?!
