For hundreds of years, the English and Scots fought against one another, with kings battling for land and power, while ordinary people struggled for survival and the hope of securing their land and families. On this tour, we will pick you up from Berwick upon Tweed and take you on a historic journey through the region. We’ll visit Melrose and the Roman fort of Trimontium before making our way back along the castles built along the Tweed, such as Norham, sharing the history of the area and the formation of the modern border.
This is a full-day tour, and entry to all sites is included. If you would like to be picked up from a different location, please let us know.
