Udawalawe National Park - Udawalawe National Park is situated on the border of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces in Sri Lanka. This park was established to create a refuge for wildlife displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River and to safeguard the reservoir’s catchment area. Spanning 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi), the park was officially opened on June 30, 1972. Prior to becoming a national park, the land was used for shifting cultivation, known locally as chena farming. Farmers were gradually relocated after the park’s designation. Located 165 kilometers (103 mi) from Colombo, Udawalawe is a crucial habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan elephants. It is a favored tourist spot and ranks as the third most visited park in the nation.

Elephant Transit Home (ETH) - The Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home, located within Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka, was founded in 1995 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation. Its main goal is to rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves and eventually release them back into the wild.

Prasad and the driver was... - Prasad and the driver was very helpful Unfortunately ,due to drought we couldnt see many animals. We will use Viator next time too

Must visit!! - Our guide was an amazing tour guide and driver. He was early to pick us up in the afternoon for our tour and very friendly. He had extensive knowledge of the park and all its wildlife, stopping wherever he saw something that to the untrained eye would be impossible!

Unbelievable experience and an outstanding tour guide - We had a private tour just me and my partner and what a treat it was to have Sakun as our guide. His knowledge, his enthusiasm and his love for animals was a real highlight. We were lucky to see all animals the park has to offer (apart from the elusive leopard) and Sakun made sure we went to the right locations at the right times to give us the best chance to see all the park's inhabitants. The little breakfast packs, the cooler full of drinks were a thoughtful touch and the traditional lunch was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault Sakun and the experience we had. Well worth the early wake-up!

Excellent safari with a wonderful guide - We had an excellent safari with a wonderful guide Sakun. Such a thoughtful and considerate guide who was able to show us a great range of animals and wildlife, whilst being respectful and avoiding the crowds. The booking process was really easy and we even had transfers arranged to and from our accommodation. Would highly recommend!

Elephants Elephants - Elephant galore ! It is the largest concentration and gathering of Asian elephants that can be seen anywhere in the world. Our guide sakun he knows the best places for animals.

Woow experience - Suitable for family. We can see the real habitat for wild animal like •Elephant •Peacock •so many birds species •crocodile •lizard •buffalo And so many Sri Lankan wild animals. Thanks Udawalawe trails for all arrangements.

Wonderful tour with Expert guide - Amazing national Park. Got to see a huge variety of animals including crocodiles, elephants, and many spectacular species of birds. Our guide is excellent finding animals and well knowledgeable about the park. Elephants are more active in the afternoon and morning. I would recommend taking the full day safari with Udawalawe Trails team if you have the time. They are experts in the job.
