Highlights

Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa

Mabamba Swamp - Upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, our guide will greet you and transfer you to Central Inn Hotel Entebbe for a safari briefing, depending on your arrival time. If you arrive in the morning, it’s recommended to exchange your money into Ugandan Shillings for use during your safari.

Transfer to Jinja with a stopover at Sezibwa Falls

Source of the Nile - Speke Monument - Visit the source of the mighty River Nile, where it begins its 4,000-mile journey from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea. You can opt for a Nile launch cruise or challenge the rapids with white water rafting on the mighty Nile, promising the wettest and wildest ride of your life! This evening, drive to Kampala and stay overnight at Nile Resort Jinja.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Uganda Equator - After breakfast, we drive to southwestern Uganda, stopping at the Equator for a coffee break and having lunch in Mbarara. This is Uganda’s second-largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park is teeming with wildlife, including gazelles, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and waterbucks. Lions are often seen both inside and at the entrance of the park. Be ready to encounter large numbers of hippos and elephants, and keep an eye out for a leopard basking in the sun. Overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge.

Kasenyi Plains Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

Kazinga Channel - Before sunrise, embark on a game drive to spot predators and nocturnal animals as they return to their hideouts. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, side-striped jackals, hyenas, leopards, lions, warthogs, Uganda kobs, and giant forest hogs. After lunch at 3 PM, take a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel. You’ll see numerous hippos and other animals coming to the water to drink or bathe, including buffaloes, crocodiles, bathing elephants, and a variety of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. Overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge.

Drive to the Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions

Drive to Kisoro in the Kigezi Highlands

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Transfer to Kisoro through the stunning terraced Kigezi Highlands and the beautiful lakes of Lake Bunyonyi before encountering the Virunga volcanoes and the local people. This evening, take a walk up the Kisoro hills or relax and prepare for gorilla tracking the next day. Overnight at Mutanda Lake Resort.

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After an early morning breakfast, get ready for an encounter with the mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, the only forest in Africa that can make this claim. It also hosts five other primate species, 113 mammal species, over 200 butterflies, and 360 bird species.

Gorilla tracking is unpredictable, and the duration of the hike can vary. The adventure of tracking gorillas in this superb ecosystem will be thrilling for adventurers. It may take 2 to 9 hours or more, and you should be prepared to walk long distances in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before encountering any gorillas. “The excitement of seeing the gorillas makes it all worthwhile!” You will be briefed on how to behave around these gentle giants. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist!’ Overnight at Gorilla Valley Lodge.

Sabyinyo Volcano Hiking Adventure

Mount Sabinyo - Climbing this extinct volcano in southwestern Uganda involves ascending three peaks. The hike takes you through muddy trails, often on wooden ladders, with expectations of patchy rain and clearing clouds as you reach the beautiful view of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. At times, the view is limited to 10 feet, but reaching the summit allows you to stand in all three countries: Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo. This hike sometimes involves walking straight up the mountain without going around it. The views and challenges of hiking Mt. Sabyinyo make it worthwhile for adventurers.

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoe Trekking

Lake Bunyonyi - After breakfast at 9:00 AM, head to Lake Bunyonyi, or ‘Place of Little Birds.’ The lake is near the Rwandan border and is considered one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second-deepest lake in Africa and one of the few places in the country where it is safe to swim (as it is bilharzia-free) and canoe trek.

The islands on the lake are perfect for relaxing, trying water sports, and immersing yourself in the natural beauty of your surroundings. The nearby hills and papyrus swamps offer many opportunities for bird watching, and the shady eucalyptus trees provide peaceful spots to sit and read a book.

Transfer to Entebbe Airport or Kigali Airport

Uganda Equator - After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport, stopping at the Equator for last-minute souvenirs and photos.
