Terkh white lake & Khorgo volcano

Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park - Our journey takes us to Terkhiin tsagaan nuur, a destination easily accessible through a newly built and well-maintained paved road. This astonishingly beautiful lake is known for its relatively pure and fresh water. The lake’s origin is traced back to torrents of lava from the Khorgo volcano, which blocked the north and south Terkh rivers, resulting in the formation of the dammed Terkhiin tsagaan lake. Perched at an altitude of 2060 meters above sea level, the lake not only offers breathtaking scenery but also supports a variety of fish, including pike. The environs of Terkhiin tsagaan nuur are a haven for rare bird species, adding to the natural diversity of the area. After a day of exploring the stunning landscapes and observing the wildlife, take some time to prepare for the adventures that await you on the following day. The serene beauty of Terkhiin tsagaan nuur and its surroundings sets the stage for a tranquil and rejuvenating experience.
