Additional Information

Allow us to introduce you to the marvels of the Gobi. ‘Gobi’ is the Mongolian word for ‘desert’. The mention of a desert usually conjures images of the sandy Sahara, but there’s more to the story. Gobi was the site where the first documented dinosaur eggs were located, thanks to the Central Asian Expedition headed by American researcher Roy Chapman Andrews. Visualize yourself standing at the legendary Flaming Cliffs, where these fossils and eggs were unearthed, basking in the glow of the setting sun. The stunning Khermen Tsav canyon, reminiscent of a mini Grand Canyon, offers unique sights such as the Egyptian Sphinx cliff. The Gobi’s wonders don’t stop there; the long expanses of the Khongor sand dunes that form part of the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park continue the journey. At Khongor, also known as the Singing Dunes, you can enjoy the fine sandy grains, mountain views, Bactrian camels with two humps, Gobi nomadic lifestyle, and narrow streams that defy typical desert imagery.
