Highlights
  • Genghis Khan Statue Complex - Located 54 kilometers away from Ulaanbaatar city, The Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue (Tsonjin Boldog Complex) is considered the world’s largest equestrian statue and the largest horse-riding statue in the world. It was built here, so the legend goes because this was the spot where Chinggis Khaan found a golden whip. The complex includes an impressive museum (with Hunnu artefacts and items from the Mongol empire), a cafe, and a souvenir shop.
In addition, you can see the amazing archaeological findings at the Mongol Empire history museum, have the opportunity to wear the king’s and queen’s costumes for family photos, or simply get fascinated by one of the world’s biggest Traditional Boot with a height of 9 meters.
  • Gorkhi-Terelj National Park - Located east to Ulaanbaatar, 50km away from the city, Gorkhi Terelj is the closest National Park to Ulaanbaatar. Beautiful green area and fascinating rock formations with numerous ger camps, five star hotels and restaurants will welcome you to the top destination for tourists in Mongolia. And the most famous one is Turtle Rock and most of the ger camps and hotels surround this area. The Turtle Rock is approximately 24m tall and shaped like a turtle. You can find 100 Monks Cave or Three Friends Cave on the way to the Turtle Rock just before you reach it. The legend says monks used to hide inside this cave during the communist purge era or even before that.
You can go around and explore attractions or you can just relax and unwind in the beautiful wilderness. Also, you can try activities like riding horses and camels.
  • Aryabal Meditation Temple - Ariyabal Temple and Gunjiin Temple, people mostly attracted to the scenery.
