Beyond just an excursion, it’s an educative pursuit that can tool for lifestyle transformation.
Our learning will be centered on growing our own edibles in the organic garden at La Macadamia, nestled within Uruapan city’s boundaries.
We initiate the session with a discourse on the concept of biointensive agriculture, a reachable organic system for anyone, along with shedding light on its advantages.
We’ll embark on a guided tour of the organic garden to acquaint ourselves with its distinctive areas, such as the live pharmacy (home to indigenous aromatic and medicinal varieties), track of the macadamia and coffee trees, the collection of bamboo, and the cacti array.
A detailed overview of the various species of saplings and seeds will be provided from which we will make a choice whether to plant them right away or to store for later use.
Prepping stage for the planting includes acquainting with the essential tools and the designated farming land.
Once our choice of planting is made, we will engage in the planting activity that will last for at least an hour.
Wrapping up the day will comprise of indulging in local treats, complemented by organic coffee and home-grown macadamia nuts.
