Highlights
  • Casa de Estudillo - La Casa de Estudillo, one of the oldest and most ghastly properties in San Diego, is claimed to be the second-most haunted house in Old Town. There are mysterious orbs and bone-chilling sounds. Visitors and staff alike are petrified by the ghoulish ongoings in this ominous and otherworldly estate.
  • Whaley House Museum - Easily one of the most haunted buildings in America, there are so many poltergeists at the Whaley House that some believe the land is a portal to another dimension. There are more ghosts in the Whaley House alone than there are in most haunted cities.
  • El Campo Santo Cemetery - The El Campo Santo Cemetery is one of the gloomiest cemeteries you will ever lay your eyes on. Join us for tales of the three most prominent apparitions on this land as we shed light on the overall history of the cemetery.

Had a great time! - Great tour. We had Mina as our guide and she was fantastic. Very entertaining and interesting and appropriate for our family (youngest is six). Really enjoyed it and highly recommend!

I Ain’t Afraid of No Ghosts - Our tour guide was incredibly personable and we learned a lot about the history of Old Town. Unfortunately, we did not see any specters and I’m still not convinced they exist. My husband also wished there were more ghosts on the tour. It was a great evening out and we recommend it.

Request Ken for your tour - It is a lite walking tour but packed with an unbelievable amount of history. Our tour guide Ken is a San Diego local who is very passionate and loves the history. I will never be able to look at Old Town San Diego the same way again which is a great thing. Ken really left us with a sense of appreciation and somewhat of a sadness for the hidden real life experiences that people walk past but remain unaware of.

Meh. - This was just okay... it was only our family on the tour which was super cool but the guide seemed a little unsure of what she wanted to say at most places. We finished the night at a graveyard and the guide snapped at my daughter about how she "spoke" to a ghost, which made my daughter very embarrassed and clam up (in reality the guide wasn't paying enough attention to realize we were all abiding by her arbitrary rules, she just interrupted my daughter before hearing her whole question). I was disappointed in how the guide treated her because this whole experience was meant to be special for my daughter and the night was ruined.

Save your money - Never been on a “haunted” tour and this wasn’t really one either. A walking history lesson of how cheap the city was bought, brothers and madams. Really nothing ghostly about it. Several groups walked away from the tour as it was that uneventful.

Couldn’t hear tour guide - The tour guide did not use a portable microphone/headset and speaker, so most of her stories were lost in the passing traffic noise. The parts I could hear were interesting. Almost nothing to see, just talking and stories.

Disappointed - About 1.5 hours before the tour that we planned, booked and paid for, we were notified that the tour was canceled because not enough people booked the tour. Then I have to ask TripAdvisor for a refund, the tour won’t do refunds. Super disappointing.
