Say YES to this tour- awesome local food! - The local food was amazing. We had the BEST focaccia bread! We were able to experience food in North Beach (Italian) and Chinatown. Our tour guide, Maria, was so knowledgeable about the area and knew the people in the restaurants we went to.

Lots of good local food! Great tour of San Francisco food scene! - We asked for an early food tour and Maria was able to take us to some great places! She was very knowledgeable about culture, history, and food. She was born in San Francisco so she knew many of the people where we stopped. We walked from our hotel (a few blocks from Fisherman's Wharf) to North Beach (Italian) and Chinatown. Our first stop was fresh ground coffee- we didn't get any to drink as not available. Then to Italian bakery. We had great coffee and sweets! She explained sites along the way and pointed out great places to each lunch and supper. She bought us some things to eat later at the bakery. We had the BEST fresh focaccia bread!!!! Then to Chinatown. It was so unique to walk all the fresh markets. She loaded us up with some food from a local restaurant. We saw the ladies making fortune cookies. Then we went to another local restaurant to eat some lunch. It was delicious!! The tour ended here and we walk back to hotel by ourselves. It is important that you can walk long distances if you do this tour.

Walking Foodie Tour of Chinatown - Fion is the best! She is equally eager to share her neighborhood and culture, as well as to learn about yours. If you're looking for an immersive tour that will let you experience Chinatown as the locals do, then this tour is for you. (Come hungry, and be sure to request Fion!).

Nice Tour, itinerary not as expected. - We really enjoyed our tour guide Maria, however, it wasn't quite the tour we were expecting. Maybe I should have been more explicit in our survey. We spent most of the time in the Ferry Building, then moved on to a few stops in the North Shore (Italian) area. I would have enjoyed visiting more areas of the city rather than multiple eateries within the Ferry Building. We didn't stop in China town, but the description of the tour made it sound like this was a major part of the tour.

Skip - try to find a different vendor. - I have been on many food tours and most of them are an incredible way to get to know the city. As it happens, I've been living in the Bay Area for nearly 15 years and wanted to do something unique with my husband for the afternoon - we've not spent much time in this part of town. My expectation is that the tour guide knows the places we visit inside an out. Usually they have some type of an arrangement with the establishment - saved seats, pre-ordered menus, so that we don't have to wait in line, or try to get a table. I can do that on my own. I honestly barely understood what we paid for in this case. The tour guide is a lovely person - but my expectations were much higher.

Not as advertised - Unfortunately I can not give a glowing review.. perhaps our guide was not familiar with the food ..but our experience was more “history of San Francisco “ related than food. My husband and I have taken many food tours and this was not as advertised. We did not have “tastings” we had 2 meals. The guide was not able to offer any history of the food...or suggest anything other than what we thought we would like. It was like going to a restaurant with a friend and not knowing what to order. There was no information on the the restaurant ..other than it was a great place to eat. We managed to walk A LOT in the NorthBeach area..and found some really cools places (not on our tour). We ate pizza at a cool shop ..but really didn’t learn much more than our guide liked their pizza the best. It appeared to me that we were asking more questions than our host would offer. Although he could answer many questions...he did not offer anything more. Nice guy...but not the tour we had in mind.
