Incredible Experience - Best part was seeing the horses up close!! The pictures on the brochure, I heard are miss leading. But, we were very fortunate to get that close and have that experience with the horses. But, dont expect that. They are wild, you can't control where they are Remember, go close to high tide as possible, otherwise the water will be shallow to get into the channels. Plus the tour guide, he really went all out to make our experience incredible. He was very nice, funny, told us exactly what to do And had great stories. He truly lives for his job. Plus, he towed the one kid across when he couldn't make it against the current. I'm telling you the 5pm tour guide, we had really makes the whole experience incredible. Highly recommend!

Worth every penny! - We were able to see the ponies! Even more than that it is beautiful and peaceful. With that said we had a windy day but Tom our guide helped by getting us close to shore. Egrets, Blue Heron, ducks and little crabs were also present.

Fun morning adventure - Our guide was helpful, fun and knowledgeable! We enjoyed the tour and wildlife views. We saw the ponies from a distance and lots of birds close up including an eagle, egrets, a pelican, etc… our family of 5 with kids ages 9-16 were able to do the trip and we could choose tandem or singe kayaks. Very great experience!

Great view - Best way to view the ponies. We saw a group of at least 20 ponies of which 5 were foals. Fun but not too strenuous.

Kayaking Assateague - Our guide, Nate, was fantastic!! He was so friendly and did his very best to accommodate us. We had a great morning and a slow, easy paddle. But unfortunately, the departure was at low tide and there was no way for us to access the ponies. It was disappointing, so be prepared that it could happen— or just to check the local tide schedule before you book. We did get close to Assateague Lighthouse and a brown pelican.

Kayaking is the way to see the Ponies. - With any wildlife tour you are at the whim of the Ponies. Our guide did a great job getting us as close as possible. I would recommend checking a tide chart and booking a tour time when it is high tide. The route can be easier to paddle and you can get closer to the ponies. Being on a kayak on the water was the way to go because in the woods, visiting from the park land, the mosquitoes were UNBEARABLE. This is not for first time paddlers or people that are not physically fit. Our guides towed some back because it was 2+ hours paddling and against the tide a good bit. I was happy to have been in a tandem so I had help.

Nice to be out in nature. - I love kayaking. So, the kayaking is what was on my list of importance. The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. First timers would have a very difficult time. The current was terrible. The time of day to see the horses seemed off. I would think it to be more predictable and I also think that if a grown man couldn't deal w the current, probably should have been notified and given the option to cancel. Or given small outboards. Or made optional to go on the fellow company boat tour. I made the current, but was so far from the horses that it was certainly not fun on that way. Again, I try to hit cool unusual places to kayak on my journeys, so I was ok with it. I'm a skilled kayaker, and by the time we got back, I was ready to be done.
