Make a first stop in Cerro Florida to admire La Sebastiana, the home of Nobel Prize for Literature winner, Pablo Neruda (admission not included). Continue along a scenic road through the hills, enjoying views of the city and the ocean, then climb up to Cerro Concepción and walk through the famous Paseo Atkinson and Gervasoni while your guide tells you about the history of immigrants who came to Valparaíso during its golden age before the opening of the Panama Canal, when it still was the main port in South America.

These squares host some of the most traditional landmarks of the city, including the Old Aduana (customs house), nowadays part of the naval zone of the Chilean army; the monument to Arturo Prat, considered a national hero for the Pacific War; and other French-style buildings dating back to the seventeenth century.
