Highlights
  • Dasaswamedh Ghat - Dashashwamedh Ghat is a prominent ghat in Varanasi situated on the banks of the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh. It is located near the Vishwanath Temple. There are two Hindu legends linked to this ghat: one suggests that Brahma created it to welcome Shiva, and another states that Brahma performed ten Ashwamegha Yajnas, hence the name Dasa-Ashwamedha Yajna.
  • Harishchandra Ghat - This is one of the two cremation ghats (the other being Manikarnika Ghat). Hindus from various regions bring the bodies of their deceased relatives to Harishchandra Ghat for cremation. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that a person cremated at Harishchandra Ghat attains salvation or moksha.
  • Assi Ghat - According to legend, Goddess Durga, after defeating the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha, threw her sword into a river (named Assi). This is the origin of the ghat’s name. While the evening aarti regularly attracts visitors, the ghat is particularly crowded during the months of Chaitya (March/April) and Magh (January/February).
  • Ganges River - Here, we will take a 60-minute boat ride.
  • Banaras Hindu University - The Kashi Vishvanath Temple is one of the most renowned Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, the temple stands on the western bank of the sacred river Ganga and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest of Shiva temples.

Great experience! - This was a wonderful tour and I highly recommend joining it. The Ganges was much cleaner than I expected. In recent years, the Ganges has been cleaned up, and many tourists come to bathe in it. After visiting the ghats, the sunset cruise was very beautiful. I was also able to experience our guide Deepu's excellent Japanese and warm personality. The evening prayer ceremony, Aarti, was also very memorable. Thanks to Deepu, I was able to enjoy the view at my leisure from a special seat. Thank you very much!

The best guide - I was skeptical at first because I had the impression that Indian guides are rip-offs, but he carefully showed me around Varanasi for half a day and even treated me to chai. He spoke fluent Japanese and was a really trustworthy person. Thank you very much.

I was able to sightsee with peace of mind, I highly recommend it! - Amit guided me for a day in Varanasi. The first thing that reassured me was that he came to see me the day before and we were able to discuss directly what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. If we only communicated by email or phone, I would have been worried about misunderstandings and miscommunications, but thanks to Amit's consideration, I was able to approach the day without any anxiety. As others have mentioned, Amit's knowledge of history and culture is amazing, but what's more, it was very interesting to hear his unique perspective and way of thinking, as someone who was born and raised in the area, answer the countless questions that came up just by walking down the street. This is an experience that you can't get on the internet or in a guidebook. This time, Amit's Japanese girlfriend also joined us, and we were able to hear interesting and fascinating stories about the cultural gap. I'm really grateful. Even for street food that requires a bit of courage, Amit knows safe and delicious restaurants. Please feel free to request it. With him, you don't have to worry about the challenges that come with traveling, such as finding the way, negotiating the price, worrying about toilets, and scams. Thanks to you, I had a very relaxing and wonderful day. I really loved Varanasi! Thank you!!

Must-visit place - I joined Amit Tours on a 2-day, 1-night trip to Varanasi. The sunrise over the Ganges River was so moving I was speechless. Amit also gave me detailed explanations in Japanese, and I was able to see many other things, such as bathing scenes, cremation scenes, and buildings! Varanasi is so deep that it cannot be expressed in words, so I would definitely recommend you go and experience it for yourself. Amit is always accommodating to the wishes of travelers, introducing and suggesting local things. He is also a great guide because he pays attention to safety. I am really glad I joined his tour! I would like to visit again someday.

Our guide, Amit, is also a great guide, and the tour organization, support, and hospitality are all wonderful! He takes us to deep places that are not included in guidebooks, and gives us valuable experiences. With Amit, we can make wonderful memories in Varanasi.

Excellent guide.... - Excellent guide. Punctual, respectful. Lived in Varnassi his whole life. Considering we only had 8 hours in Varnassi, did almost impossible , at fast pace, to show us as much of the city as possible. He even got us to the top of the burning ghat!

If you go to India - Amit is fluent in Japanese, so even if you don't speak English he will understand you and if you talk to him about what you want to do when you go to India he will make it happen. If you want to enjoy India, which is said to be a place that will change your outlook on life, you can rely on Amit. If I have the chance to go to India again, I would like to ask him for help.

A tour to fully enjoy the charm of Varanasi - Varanasi has many tourist attractions and events, but it is difficult to do it efficiently on your own. Also, even if there is a tourist attraction with a cultural background, its appeal is halved if there is no explanation. On this tour, Amit guided me and I was able to have a fulfilling experience in Varanasi that I could not have experienced on my own. I recommend it.

It was a great stay in Varanasi! - I asked him to be my guide from the afternoon to the evening of the day of arrival. He showed me not only the places I requested, but also various places in Varanasi. Varanasi has many alleys, so I think I was able to tour efficiently thanks to him being my guide. There were two things that were best about it. First, Amit's Japanese is very good. It was great that he explained to me in detail in Japanese while we were looking at temples, crematoriums, etc. Secondly, he responded quickly to my contacts. I mainly contacted him through Instagram DMs, and he would contact me immediately if I needed anything, so I felt very safe during my stay in Varanasi. He recommended an early morning boat ride on the Ganges River, so I asked him to arrange that as well. He spent the time with me until the return transfer time, and he was happy to accommodate my request for BABA LASSI for the second day in a row! I will never forget the delicious chai I had at Amit's shop. I would recommend this guide to all Japanese people visiting Varanasi!
