Highlights
  • Isola di Murano - The enchanting islands of Murano and Burano are the perfect change of pace from Venice’s crowded streets and waterways. And the perfect way to reach them is by private water taxi. Faster and sturdier than a gondola, nimbler and less crowded than a waterbus, water taxis are the premier way to travel in Venice. Few visitors get to experience them, but yours is included, along with an expert local guide who’ll explain Venice’s history as a titan of trade along the way.\n\nYour first port of call is a specially chosen glassblowing workshop on Murano. In the Middle Ages, only Murano’s artisans possessed the secrets of this craft, and sharing them was punishable by execution. You’ll get to witness modern glassblowers wield those once secret techniques, shaping delicate and dazzling works of art from molten glass. Then admire the workshop’s finest work in its gallery, and perhaps take home a piece of your own \

Artisan Islands - Murano was lovely! We enjoyed the Murano glass making demonstration greatly! What amazing craftsmanship! The pieces we saw in the gallery were absolutely beautiful! We just needed more time to explore the city. Burano was such a beautiful village with the colored houses. It was so peaceful to walk around and explore the city. It was interesting to watch the lace making demonstration… such a beautiful craft! We loved shopping at the local shops. In spite of the pouring rain, we had a fabulous time. Francesca Gin was a wonderful tour guide who was personable with a fabulous sense of humor! She shared her wealth of knowledge about the islands of Venice. It was awesome to learn about the culture and people of Venice from someone who has lived there her entire life. We LOVED everything about this tour! ❤️

1st Class Excursion - The trip to Murano and Burano was excellent. The meeting point was easy to find and our guide was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. The boat ride to and from the islands was calm and it was good to have plenty of room for everyone to sit comfortably. The islands themselves were great, we got see the glass making and also the lace making. Then some private time to spend on both islands before the boat ride back to Venice. Could have easily spent more time on the islands but overall very happy with the excursion and would highly recomend

Nice experience - Our tour guide Elly was wonderful! We enjoyed the entire experience. Our 9 year old daughter was fascinated with the glass blowing and lace making. Do this tour while you have the chance since lace making is becoming a lost art.

Beautiful sights from another part of Venice - Ellie did a great job giving us background on Murano and Burano. She gave excellent instructions to guide us. The boat ride was enjoyable and the sights at both places interesting. There was also enough down time at each location. The tour was excellent value for the price.

An excellent trip and worth the time and money. - I really enjoyed our trip to Burano. Murano was nice enough, but Burano was absolutely lovely! Venice proper could borrow more of Burano's charm. The boat ride to and from was very relaxing as well! Frankie did a good job discussing the islands and their histories, but if you want to hear her then sit inside the cabin of the boat, outside was hard.
