Additional Information

The history of winemaking in Vienna extends all the way to the Roman era, with vineyards dotting the city’s scenic hills. As the only world capital that can claim substantial vineyards within its confines, Vienna offers an unparalleled oenological experience that is too unique to pass up.

Join us for an exceptional wine-tasting event at the Schönbrunn Palace, wherein we have partnered with local winegrowers to provide an understanding of the distinct grape types and winemaking techniques typical to this region.

We also offer an optional addition where you can schedule a visit to the Schönbrunn Palace, synchronized with your wine-tasting. You don’t have to plan anything on site - we’ll manage that for you. Equipped with a sound-guide, you’ll have the freedom to sightsee through the palace at your own pace, reflecting on your experiences during our wine tasting.

Nice wine experience - The wines were mostly of good quality, one below average and one top : Gemischter Satz. The presentation was good and we were given time to assess and enjoy each glass. 5 wines were presented. Was amazed that only 10 people had chosen to spend time on this offer.

Good experience - Good experience, just the two of us doing the wine tasting. Nice cheese board provided as well. Lost a point because we bought two bottles of the wine for 24Euro each, then found them for 7Euro in a supermarket. Also, realised once we got home that we didn't get the booklet mentioned in the listing. Still a good experience, just don't buy your wine from there!

Wine and cheese selection perfect - The staff are very welcoming, the wine is extremely good and paired beautifully with the cheese selection . Unfortunately you are not at the Palace or palace views, only a restaurant on the outside facing the road

Very good! - Very good - despite a guide who was either a beginner or didn't know much about wine! Good wines and very nice wine tasting group!

Wine tasting with a visit to the castle - This was not worth the money. The man who was supposed to tell us about the wines spoke very poor English. Had to have help from one of the guests to translate. Poor planning and execution. Might as well put a case of wine on the table and say drink and enjoy yourselves and do something else.

Don’t waste your koney - Literally the worst! The gentleman who was running the tasting had no clue about the wines, the grapes or the regions. He only gave us the name of the wine, the date and alcohol content all of which he read off the bottle. It came with a cheese pairing but he also didn’t know which cheese to pair them with. He had a clipboard with descriptions of the wines but after spending 5 min trying to find the first wine he gave up on that. Don’t waste your money - just go to a wine bar instead.

Totally UNACCEPTABLE! - This experience was a total failure . We were denied at the wine tasting - told that it was not scheduled and offered a light lunch instead. This was at 3pm when we had already eaten lunch, so the offer of a light lunch instead of the promised wine tasting was not acceptable. Furthermore, we were given tickets for the Schonbrunn Palace tour for 2 hours before we were told to arrive, so that was moot as well. Viator/TripAdvisor can and should do better than this. We have requested a full refund and await resolution.
