HA NOI ARRIVAL - CYCLE TOUR - WATER PUPPET SHOW (-/-/D)

Hanoi - Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be greeted by Luco Travel’s driver and tour guide and transferred to Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Check in at the hotel. Free time to explore at your leisure.

Thang Long Water Puppet - At 18:00, you will be picked up from the hotel by “Xich Lo” and taken on a ride around Hanoi’s Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and Ngọc Sơn Temple for an hour before being dropped off at the Hanoi Water Puppet Show.

Enjoy the Water Puppet Show, which features traditional performances depicting the daily life of Vietnamese farmers (such as cultivating, tending buffalo, and catching fish), communal activities (like swimming contests and dragon dancing), and historical legends (such as Le Loi returning the precious sword). This art form has captivated audiences for centuries.

Have dinner and return to the hotel.

HA NOI CITY TOUR (B/L/-)

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - Meet Luco Travel’s tour guide and driver at the hotel.

Visit the memorial complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, the historic figure and father of modern Vietnam. This includes the Presidential Palace, Uncle Ho’s house on stilts, One Pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university built in 1076. You will also see the picturesque West Lake and the sixth-century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda.

Vietnam Museum of Ethnology - Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring special Vietnamese cuisine.

Afternoon: Visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, a research center and public museum showcasing the ethnic groups of Vietnam. The museum’s mission includes scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation, exhibition, and preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the nation’s various ethnic groups. It also guides research, conservation, and technology specific to ethnographic work.

Hoa Lo Prison - Your guide will then take you to Hoa Lo Prison, where most exhibits focus on the prison’s use up to the mid-1950s, highlighting the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France. A notable relic is the French guillotine used to behead Vietnamese revolutionaries. There are also displays about the American pilots incarcerated at Hoa Lo during the American War.

Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street - Visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, where a legendary turtle is preserved, and explore Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also known as the ‘36 streets,’ offering plenty of photo opportunities.

HA NOI - HA LONG BAY - BAI TU LONG BAY - OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE (B/L/D)

Halong Bay - 07:30. Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

08:00. Our driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and depart for Ha Long Bay, one of Northern Vietnam’s most popular tourist attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its scenic karst topography.

On the way to Ha Long Bay, we will have a short 20-minute break. The car will arrive at Bai Chay, Hon Gai Harbor.

12:00. Pick-up at Hon Gai harbor. Transfer to the cruise by tender (5-10 minutes).

12:45 Enjoy a welcome drink, then check in to your cabin.

13:30 Cruise through Bai Tu Long Bay and enjoy lunch aboard with a set menu.

Bai Tu Long Bay - 15:30 Explore Vung Vieng Fishing Village: Choose to discover the daily life of the fishing communities by bamboo boat or kayak around the Vung Vieng area (both options last about one hour).

17:30 Relax and enjoy the sunset while the boat cruises to the Cong Dong-Cong Do area to anchor overnight.

18:00 Free time or participate in a cooking class to learn how to cook traditional Vietnamese dishes (cooking class can be arranged upon request).

19:30 Enjoy a delicious dinner on the cruise.

21:00 Free evening to join activities like board games, squid fishing, or karaoke (upon request).

BAI TU LONG - THIEN CANH SON CAVE - HA NOI - HUE (B/L/-)

Thien Canh Son Cave - 07:00. Wake up early for Tai Chi exercise.

07:30. Have breakfast on the cruise.

07:45 – 09:00 Enjoy morning views of the seascapes with a cup of tea or coffee while cruising toward Thien Canh Son Cave. Visit Thien Canh Son Cave, a medium-sized and less-visited cave in Bai Tu Long Bay.

Halong Bay - 09:00 Return to the boat, relax on the sundeck, or watch a fruit carving demonstration.

09:30 Check out of the cabin while the boat heads back toward the harbor.

10:00 Transfer by tender to the pier and relax inside the pier building while waiting for return transportation.

10:30 Enjoy the last scenery of Ha Long Bay over lunch as the boat cruises back to shore.

12:00 After lunch, board our tender and head back to the wharf, where you will be met by your return trip vehicle to transfer you to Hanoi.

Hue - 15:30 Arrive in Hanoi. Leave your luggage at the lobby. Free time until our driver picks you up and takes you to the airport for your flight to Hue.

A Luco Travel tour guide and driver will meet you at Phu Bai Airport and take you to your hotel in Hue City.

HUE IMPERIAL CITY - HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN (B/L/-)

Hue Imperial City (The Citadel) - In the morning, at 8:00 am, our driver and tour guide will pick you up at the hotel lobby to visit the Imperial Citadel, where 13 emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty used to work and live. We will visit the Nine Holy Canons, Ngo Mon Gate, Court Yard, Thai Hoa Palace, The Temple, and the Forbidden Purple City.

Tomb of Tu Duc - Leaving the Imperial Citadel, we will drive along the romantic Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hue, over 400 years old.

Continue to visit Tu Duc Tomb, the palace in the afterlife of the 4th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. This tomb is a superb example of Nguyen Dynasty architecture. Our tour guide will provide deep insights into the architecture, history, and culture of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty, especially the emperor’s philosophy.

Have lunch at a local restaurant.

Hoi An Ancient Town - Travel to Hoi An Ancient Town, stopping at Lang Co Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, with over 10 km of white sand.

Afterward, check in at the hotel and take a walk around Hoi An Ancient Town to see the central market, former merchants’ houses, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, a Chinese communal hall, and Hoi An Museum.

HOI AN - DA NANG - GOLDEN BRIDGE - MARBLE MOUNTAIN (B/L/-)

Ba Na Hills - 07:30 After breakfast at the hotel, our guide and driver will pick you up to visit Ba Na Hills, also known as King Mountain, the second DaLat/Sapa in Central Vietnam, known for its cool weather.

08:30 Admire the heights by riding the most modern cable car system in Southeast Asia. Visit Dream Stream Cable Car Station and play games at Fantasy Park.

Dragon Bridge - Explore King Peak at an altitude of 1,487m, offering panoramic views of the Bana Hills and Quang Nam - Da Nang. On the mountain top, visit Linh Tu Pagoda, known for its unique temple construction.

Visit the Golden Bridge, one of the most famous bridges in Vietnam and Asia, before heading back to the hotel to relax.

Enjoy a buffet lunch at Bana Hill restaurant.

The Marble Mountains - Continue to visit the Marble Mountains, one of the most famous sites in Da Nang. This cluster of five limestone mountains features sacred pagodas and beautiful caves. Conquer 151 steps of Thuy Mountain, the highest mountain here, and visit Linh Ung Pagoda, Xa Loi Tower, Van Thong Cave, Hoa Nghiem Cave, Huyen Khong Cave, and Tam Thai Pagoda.

Spend time visiting the Stone Carving Village at the mountain’s base. Return to the hotel and relax.

HOI AN - DA NANG - HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR (B/L/D)

Ho Chi Minh City - After breakfast, our guide will take you to Da Nang Airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City (timing dependent on flight schedule). Upon arrival, you will be met by Luco Travel’s tour guide and driver and transferred to the hotel.

War Remnants Museum - Visit the War Remnants Museum, formerly known as the Museum of Vietnam War. This poignant display highlights the futility of war, with particularly touching black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside displays rusting jets, tanks, and cannons captured from the American military regime.

Enjoy lunch at a restaurant.

Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral - Visit the former US Embassy, where the last helicopter flew out of Saigon in 1975. Then, sight-see at the Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, built between 1877 and 1883. These are prime examples of classical French colonial architecture, with every stone used in their construction shipped from France to Vietnam. The two 40m towers, topped with iron spires, dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is the country’s largest post office.

The Independence Palace - Visit The Reunification Palace, one of the most important buildings in the city. On April 30th, 1975, the ‘American War’ officially ended here when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was then the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.

Cu Chi Tunnels - In the morning, our car will pick you up at your hotel and depart for Cu Chi Tunnels, a 1.5-hour drive.
