ITINERARY:

At 8:00 in the morning, our guide will greet you at your lodging in Ho Chi Minh City. After which, we will proceed to Long Tan Commune in the Dat Do District of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, a journey that will roughly take three hours.
At 11:00, we’ll head to Hoa Long to explore the old battlefield. Here are the highlights of our tour:

  1. Underground Tunnel of Long Phuoc - a subterranean passage used during the war.
  2. The former Australian outpost, known as Nui Dat Base (SAS hill), where we see several historic sites including the SAS hill,” Luscombe Field “ airstrip, the Luscombe Bowl, and the “Kangaroo South Pad”, a former chopper dust-off point. We’ll also visit a place called Pearly Gates. We’ll conclude with a visit to the Nui Dat Kindy.
  3. The Long Tan Cross Memorial, where you’ll learn about the LTC and the Battle of Long Tan, in which 108 ANZAC troops (from Australian and New Zealand Army Corp) faced off against between 1,500 and 2,500 Viet Cong forces.
  4. Lastly, we will see Horseshoe Hill (formerly Gia Quy Fire support Base).
    We aim to return to Ba Ria around 13:30 for lunch, and head back to the hotel, concluding the trip, around 15:00.
