Truly powerful tour - This was a very powerful tour. The guide gave great information along the way out to the Plantation area. Then the self guided tour of the Whitney Plantation was wonderfully done. Easy to follow and built a true picture of what life was like for the enslaved people at the Plantation. I highly recommend.

Not a sugarcoated tour - The Whitney Plantation allowed us to hear the real hard truths about slavery. I’m so glad we went as a lot of these historical sites are being ruined by hurricanes. Our driver Dionne also gave us a bunch of information about sites along our route. It’s worth the morning!!

Great Experience! - This was a fabulous experience and our tour guide was knowledgeable as well as fun! The drive to the plantation was an hour and our driver gave us detailed information about the city as well as the various plantations we passed once we were in the vicinity of our destination. I would definitely recommend this small group experience over a larger tour company!

Excellent plantation travel - This was a great way to experience the history of the plantations and see outside of New Orleans! At first I thought I would see less by picking one plantation but our guide was very knowledgeable and explained the history of others along the river and give us good visuals from the van. Highly recommended!

We paid a lot of money for a van ride - The trip and tour were okay. It was a lovely day and the plantation was worth the visit. Our driver though was just a driver. There was no guide, no professional overview of the history. We simply listened to the radio on a van on the way to and from the plantation. We probably should have saved some money and rented a car.

Interesting - Very interesting visit Amelie our guide on the plantation was able to captivate us through the history of the “Laura” family For the French, be careful to choose your transport and visit time carefully in order to benefit from a French guide, this was not the case for us, fortunately Amelie provided us with a booklet in French, my mother not having a perfect command of the language (I don't). more elsewhere)

Whitney Plantation, a must-see - The Whitney Plantation describes in detail and preserves the history of 1770s - 1800s slavery at a Plantation in Louisiana. For that reason, it is my favorite of all of the New Orleans Plantation tours. I toured the Plantation in 2019, when there was a REAL guide. He was very, very good, and the tour was so much better with an in-person guide. He had an impressive knowledge of the history, and he answered all questions that were asked. The Whitney grounds and buildings are very well-kept.

Disappointing Booking Experience - After booking and paying for the Whitney Plantation Tour - our trip was cancelled. This was due to the fact that the bus pickup did not service our hotel - Place dArmes - even though when booking the tour the Trip Adviser website showed our hotel as a pickup site. Website needs to be updated.
