Highlights
  • The National Council of Negro Women - The Headquarters of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) is a historic building located in Washington D.C., United States. The NCNW was founded in 1935 by Mary McLeod Bethune, an educator and civil rights leader, to promote the rights and welfare of African American women and their families. The organization has been headquartered in the same building since 1953 and it has been designated as a National Historic Landmark.

The building is located at 633 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, in the heart of the nation’s capital, just a few blocks from the White House. The building was originally constructed in the late 19th century as a commercial office building. In 1942, the building was purchased by the National Council of Negro Women with the help of a loan from the Federal Housing Administration.

Personable and engaging tour guide made the tour lots of fun! - Excellent tour! Kenny Burns was an excellent tour guide. Very personable and engaging. Lots of interesting facts. Read reviews before choosing his tour which were all very positive. He met the mark and lived up to the expectations of those reviews. So I had to leave my own. Well done, Mr Burns! Thank you!

Best tour ever - Best tour ever. If you plan to visit The National Museum of African-American History and Culture - NMAAHC your visit is incomplete without taking KB Tours Daily African American History Tour - DAAH Kenny Burns - KB is an excellent guided tour that provides detailed history that is both educational and informative. DAAH Tour offers insight into today's world of black of American history For us the highlight of the KB tours is the guided tour was the drive through the mostly African American 8th & 9th wards of Anacostia neighborhood to Frederick Douglass' home.

Highly recommend! - This was a wonderful tour that highlighted the Black American contribution to our nations history. We visited most of the historical monuments and toured parts of the city that weren’t heavily trafficked by tourists such as the home of Mary McLeod Bethune. Kenny is very personable, knowledgeable and full of interesting facts. The van is clean and spacious and Kenny is a safe driver. Highly recommend this tour.

D.C. Travel 2024 - Kenny our tour guide provided great information about the city and the monuments. I will be bringing the grandkids back to take this tour. Keep up the great work. I learned some great news about the MLK monument and viewed the Frederick Douglas House on Kenny's recommendation and what a tour it was. Also saw Kenny there with a tour group. KB Tours keep up the great work.
