DC trip - The first part of our tour felt rushed and we didn't have enough time to really see and read all of the information we wanted too on the Mall. We will do a Hop on, Hop off tour our next trip so we can spend more time seeing exactly what we want too. The second part of the tour with Robert to Mt. Vernon and Alexandria was awesome! (other than the rain). We had plenty of lesurely time to wander, read and investigate the estate. We learned thta our guide Robert was originally from our home state of Wisconsin.

Not a full day tour! - I had paid for a day trip of Washington DC plus Mount Vernon. Unfortunately Instead I was transferred to a trip to Mount Vernon and was to be given a tour in the evening. They apparently did this as I was the only one who had booked that particular day's itinerary. I only learned this late in the day when I complained I had not seen "the sites."- I must say that the tour of Mount Vernon was very good indeed but the lack of the tour was disappointing. I had never been to DC before and booked the tour as I thought it would be the best way to experience the highlights. As I was leaving early the next day for my flight home I was too tired to go on any evening tour, particularly as I was told it would not bring me back until after 10.30 and even then I would need an Uber to take me back to my hotel. I was contacted the next day (I presume because I didn't take the evening tour) and when I explained what had happened I was told I would be credited the cost of the tour but this has not been forthcoming. This is why I have decided to go ahead with this review. Further, the driver of the van who took us to/from Mount Vernon was not very pleasant and was certainly not customer oriented. He seemed to be more concerned with bad drivers than informing us of our surroundings. He gave the distinct impression that he would rather be anywhere other than driving us around. The van was new and nice and clean, it was just the driver that disappointed. Finally, I have to restate that I enjoyed Mount Vernon but there was a lot of walking and I was exhausted, but missed what I had hoped would be a nice sie seeing tour with a commentary.

Washington DC Tour - The tour of Washington DC arrived late and the tour guide spoke with a thick accent so at times it was very difficult to understand what was being said.

Viator’s Mount Vernon Fell short - The monuments portion of the tour was well done. We paid for the additional Mount Vernon tour…We did not realize this was an addition… We were pretty much dropped off at Mount Vernon later in the day in a separate vehicle. We would have preferred to do this first in the morning as the featured portion of the tour not as some work it in deal. The tour guides seemed as though this was an inconvenience to them and asked us three times if we could go on another day… So i didn’t think 300 plus dollars for two of us was worth it.. I’m recommendimg to friends and family that they do a hop on hop off monuments tour and taking a “real” tour to mount vernon or ubering themselves out there… This experience was not worth 300 plus dollars… When i bring additional family back later in the season we’re skipping Viator..
