Highlights
  • Potomac River - Meet your guide and begin your tour by stepping aboard the ferry for a 45-minute cruise down the Potomac River to the historic Georgetown neighborhood. See iconic national monuments from the water for a unique perspective of the nation’s capital.
  • C & O Canal - After your 45 minute river cruise comes to an end, the second part of your tour begins! Your guide will take you through Georgetown, the oldest neighborhood in DC and one of the most storied in the US. Hear about how the redevelopment of C&O Canal was overseen by George Washington himself, transforming it from an unsightly canal into a national monument.
  • Baked & Wired - Sample a delicious cupcake at this award-winning family-run bakery and discover for yourself why it’s such a local favorite!
  • Old Stone House - The Old Stone House is the oldest unchanged building in Washington, DC. Hear the story behind this often-missed gem from your local guide.
  • Georgetown - Continue your walking tour of Georgetown learning about its storied residents who once called the neighborhood home, including Julia Childs and Jackie Onassis Kennedy.
  • Martin’s Tavern - A local institution, Martin’s Tavern is the place where JFK proposed to Jackie—and she said yes! Today, this is commemorated with a plaque designating their table as the “proposal booth.” Locally owned for four generations, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright once said that she considers Martin’s an extension of her own living room.
  • Holy Trinity Catholic Church - This is the city’s first Catholic Church. Hear about how in the early days of service, parishioners had to rent out space on the pews—or were forced to bring their own seating! A plaque here commemorates JFK, who attended his last service here before he was assassinated in 1963.
  • Georgetown University - Next, you’ll stop by America’s oldest Catholic university. Georgetown University’s main campus spans over 102 acres. It consists of 58 buildings, most of which feature Gothic and Georgian architecture. Hear how it has hosted multitudes of world leaders and become an important fixture of Georgetown.
  • “The Exorcist” Steps - Screenwriter and author of “The Exorcist” William Peter Blatty attended Georgetown University, which he subsequently described as the best years of his life. See the “Exorcist Steps” featured in the 1973 film and hear more about the true story that served as Blatty’s inspiration.

Fun afternoon on the Potomac and in Georgetown - Our guide was excellent- I believe his name was Alex. He had a microphone so everyone would hear him. We went to the front of the boat as he advised; he gave us lots of information enroute to Georgetown.

Super Combo Trip for Washington DC visit - Super tour to take when visiting Washington DC. Combining the river boat ride with the Georgetown walk was a great combo. Jesse was very informative and kept the group engaged. Jessie really showed dedication to his job when an injury happened after the tour and he stayed for the extra hour to ensure all was handled.

It's a long walk with all... - It's a long walk with all outdoor stops and mostly uphill. The history and choices of stops are not that fascinating.

Very interesting cruise on the Potomac - We really liked our guide, Ayana. The crew was very professional. It was a beautiful day on the Potomac with lots of boaters and kayakers. One pleasure boater ran into us so that was interesting. None aboard were injured and we went on to Georgetown. All in all a fun day for us.

A Pleasant Walk In Georgetown - We loved being introduced to Georgetown and seeing the multiple Kennedy homes and places John and Jacquelyn frequented. The tour was well planned. The water taxi was fine and the operators were very polite. Our guide was disappointing. He knew his script but was unable to answer most of the group's questions. We were disappointed that he had not researched what we thought were relatively obvious tourist inquiries and come better prepared to answer questions. We would recommend this tour but not this guide.

Georgetown Guided Tour - The guided tour wasn't what I expected. The tour guide didn't know exactly how many guess was in his party apparently. When he placed orders for cupcakes before departing, he didn't account for every guess. An experienced tour guide would have made sure that accounted for everyone in his party.
