A piece of history at your fingertips - Amazing place. So much to see and explore on the property. Very organized with site tour guides and docents who were very thorough in disseminating information and responding to questions. On site facilities reflected the period and offered an array of food and gift shop options. Wish we knew about the free shuttle to the distillary as would have checked that out as well. Tour guide/van driver was very engaging and made the drive to and from Mt Vernon very informative as well. He also offered to drop us near a Metro rather than back at the meeting hotel which was super helpful. Would higly recommend this tour!

Mount Vernon - Walking around Mt Vernon. The textbooks don’t do it justice. Was a bit discouraged that it closed at 5.

Best part was being in the grounds - Robert was very informative on the ride there and back. It would have been a little more enjoyable if he had accompanied us for a portion of the grounds.

Badly structured tour. Rushed by the guides - Disappointed by the guides. We felt rush in each room of the mansion. Some guides couldn’t even finished talking the next group was already on the way. I’d rather have a self guided tour than this type of tour.

A ride and tickets - Our trip did not go through Old Alexandria, although that could have been due to a protest in DC that made it more challenging for the driver to get us to Mount Vernon. This tour basically just involved transportation and tickets to Mount Vernon grounds and house. The driver did not accompany us in, so any information was provided by the staff at Mount Vernon, that is available to anyone with tickets. The information provided by the driver while driving was negligible.

Mt Vernon and bus - I was supposed to be on a 9am tour but it was changed to 11 due to the driver's accident. I was concerned about being done in time for my flight. All went well on the tour of Mt Vernon but the driver was 40 minutes late picking us up because of a van problem. I took a taxi to the airport from Mt Vernon (he was going to get me there) and missed the tour in Alexandria.

The trip started two... - The trip started two hours delayed but I was informed just two minutes before. Moreover, from Mount vernon we were supposed to pick up by 3pm. But no one came to pick up us. We called several times to the tour guide. Even one of our team members need to go to airport whereas her luggage was in the Van. After one hour the van arrived but one the way it was broken down. We waited at a shell’s gas station. After half an hour the guide sent an Uber for us. At last we reached the pick up point after two hours delay.
