Additional Information

Waterford, as the ancient city of Ireland, owes much of its history to its estuary. This estuary was once a key entry point for initial Viking invaders. The city’s history is heavily influenced by the Norman and Cromwellian invasions, as well as events from both World War I and II. For a prolonged period, the Port of Waterford was an important hub in international shipping, and its history is rich with stories. Moreover, its river and estuary host a variety of biodiversity, with assorted plants, animals, and marine life.

Family touring Ireland - This was a nice little 90 minute break from walking. Andy is the captain. He was a delight to talk to you. Please give him a call if you have any questions. We enjoyed him taken time on the tour to come and chat with us. Next we have Johnny, the story teller. He did a fantastic job telling us about the history of Waterford, Ireland, the river, and the relationship to the USA. We can't wait to read his book. It was bit cold the day we did this but at the half way point we had tea and cookie and enjoyed the views. Would we do this again, yes!!

Highly recommended - We really enjoyed the cruise with Johnny and Andy, the scenery is beautiful and the historical background provided by Johnny was very Interesting, we all learned a lot, even a local Ballybricken man in exile like myself! We are really lucky to hail from such a historically important city, we should never take it for granted. We will definitely do the longer cruise down to Ballyhack over the summer months.

Girls evening out - What a fantastic trip down the river to Cheekpoint. Despite the weather not being kind to us, we had such a good time, as the back of the boat is nicely covered in and it didn't hinder our view. Beautiful charcuterie board and lovely processo, our own playlist blue toothed up to Andrew's speaker. Andrew and his crew were fantastic, attentive but left us to ourselves. We had a great girls evening out - would highly recommend (for any types of groups)

Viking boat tour - The tour was very informative and not too much information to feel overwhelmed. The hot tea and candy were a nice touch. The tour guide also recommended a hike, the Dunmore Coastal Path which was great!
