Highlights
  • Holland Discovery - Explore the Dutch landscape and countryside. The tour lasts approximately three hours. Our unique selling point: we cycle on safe, quiet, and wide bike paths with minimal traffic. No worries, I’m your guide :-)
  • Muiderslot - A medieval castle built in 1275. We won’t go inside, but it’s a great spot for photos!
  • Weesp - Discover windmills, canals, the Amsterdam Defense Line (a UNESCO World Heritage site), a skinny bridge, stunning houseboats and water villas, beautiful countryside, livestock (cows, sheep, goats, Dutch horses), birds, dairy farms, typical Dutch countryside houses (like those in Giethoorn), WWII bunkers, and more.
  • Molen de Vriendschap - Learn about windmills. Open on Saturdays.
  • Muiden - Enjoy a coffee or beer at one of Holland’s most famous brown cafes: Ome Ko (everyone loves it :-). Afterward, we’ll stop at the Amsterdam Castle (Muiderslot) for photos. Next, we’ll drink fresh, unpasteurized cold milk straight from the cow (it tastes like Italian ice cream). Muiden is a medieval city you won’t regret visiting!
  • Muiderberg - Visit Windmill De Onrust. Photos here are guaranteed to look like a Van Gogh painting!
  • De Koeienkade - Stop at a cheese farm. Taste and buy some of Holland’s best cheese. Feel free!
  • Muiderberg - Jewish cemetery. We visit this site upon request (for those with a Jewish background).

A wonderful day - Remco was on time. He showed us some beautiful parts of the countryside with a trip to a farm. He was knowledgeable about Dutch engineering which we found fascinating. A wonderful day.

Lovely ride in the countryside - Freddy was a fabulous tour guide through the Dutch countryside. We took an easy train ride from the city and we biked to a farm, a windmill, and more. Very fun and a nice escape from bustling Amsterdam!

Top Notch!! - My wife and I, highly recommend! Remco was a terrific guide and gave us some great history behind all the great scenery. Not to mention we all had just great conversation and time riding together. We would do this tour again in a heartbeat.

Easy and enjoyable - Remco gave us a wonderful private tour! It was educational and entertaining. We learned so much about Amsterdam and it's history. The bike ride was like riding through a movie, so picturesque and peaceful.

Highly recommend-- fun and memorable - We had an absolutely fantastic time with Remco. The route was fantastic and we really enjoyed all of the history, facts, and interesting (often amusing) side notes. Weesp and the neighboring town with castle are very special. The bikes fit us perfectly (we have 2 tall, 2 short in our family), which we all appreciated-- very comfortable . One highlight among many was tasting fresh milk and ice cream. It was everything I hoped it would be for our family-- a private tour, a great day biking (very good exercise) in fresh air with beautiful countryside. Very personal and also very professional. Fun and memorable. Highly recommend.

Great ride! - A long, rambling bike ride through the country with the energetic and effusive Remco. Not only does he know a lot of great facts about the Netherlands, but he takes you on a lovely, scenic route through some picturesque countryside.

Beautiful bike ride - Our guide was Franky. He was interesting and took us on a wonderful bike ride, but it was a little slow getting started because he didn't have the bikes ready for us and we had to take a little detour to the bike shop to fill the tires on one and get the chain adjusted on another. Once we got going, the ride was beautiful and we stopped to take pictures by a castle, stopped for fresh milk, and stopped at a windmill. The little town of Weesp is very cute!!

Great sights…awful equipment - The sightseeing was awesome. The bike equipment was awful. Nothing more to say than that….other than the rating system requires 100 characters.

Disappointing - save your money - The scenery was lovely but overall the tour was disappointing. We could have had similar experience renting a bike and doing a self guided tour (I would recommend this option - trails are well marked and easy to navigate). It cost $350CAD (4 people) plus additional 60 euros cash for bike rental (read this in the fine print). It was advertised as 3-4 hours and we were dropped off in 2 hours. We have done similar bike tours in many cities in Europe and have never been disappointed. In this case, we generally felt rushed and that our guide was not engaged at all.

Proceed with caution this overpriced, under delivered “tour” - Pretty countryside tour, but a few things to note before you go: A) confirm the itinerary with the host before you go. We did not do at least 80% of what was advertised on TripAdvisor. When noted during the tour, our guide Franky blamed US for misinterpreting the details! There is no cheese tasting as promised, nor entry into castle grounds (just viewed from very afar). B) you must be an expert bike rider to sustain on this tour. My two friends and I were only presented 3 bikes and when we requested the seats to come down, he said that it was okay to have our legs hyper extended! Thankfully he helped my one friend out at a local bike shop because she insisted. Not the best way to begin a tour (telling the customer they should not feel the way they do!). Their “quiet bike paths with minimal traffic” were in fact very busy roads where pedestrians and drivers shared. We had to walk our bikes off the path twice to avoid begin hit by massive trucks! Not for the weary of heads. C) half the sites were closed or blocked off due to construction or other reason. It was a Thursday, so they should’ve offered some alternatives. D) the guide only offered personal stories, very minimal history or historical significance was discussed. At the end of the day, this tour is VERY overpriced for what you get, and god forbid you turn into one of the previous clients who fell into a ditch head first or had trouble operating the too-tall bike… It’s too bad, we had a set of expectations based on the tour description and were let down. Proceed with caution, or take your business elsewhere.
