Our fans-turned-guides will share with you fascinating stories of the making of these movies that you likely won’t hear anywhere else - mainly because some of our guides were actually there!

Fun day out for film fans! - Our tour guide was Robbie who was an extra in LOTR as well as other films. He had interesting facts and stories to tell us from behind the scenes. The weather was poor but it didn’t impact our experience (except the river was flooded!), he still kept us all upbeat even with the rain. Food was good at a cafe/garden centre. Weta workshop tour was brilliant, can take photos in certain areas. Photo opportunity at the end with free download. Gift shop here too.

Best Tour Guide! - We had Robbie as our tour guide and I'm so glad we did. Robbie IS the perfect person to lead this tour. The stories he was able to tell with small details he was able to add at each location of the tour was absolutely phenomenal. I will be bringing a couple of my LOTR fan friends back to complete this tour and will be asking for Robbie specifically to lead it. Amazing experience!!

Fun with a nice history twist - Was blown away by the areas we traveled too and the history of the area plus getting ti see some of the actual filming locations was great. Even better were the photos that we got to see to match up to the locations. We had a very small group (started with 4 of us for the first half then went to 3 of us for the full day) the lunch was delicious and the rude was nice. Weta was great as well. Got soem history and our guide told us he worked on the sets with some of the horses.

A Must Do! - This was an amazing trip! Robbie was our tour guide and he was insightful, knew all about the Lord of the Rings! He also knew all sorts of information about Wellington which made this trip so much more interesting. Lunch was delicious. Weta workshop was awesome too. All sorts of color hings to see as well! 12/10 would do again.

Best day ever - This day was amazing, start to finish. Our guide, Wywy, really knew what he was talking about and filled our day with awesome LotR-trivia. And also gave interesting insight into birds of NZ, and Maori culture, wich was a very nice bonus. Would 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic adventure - We were lucky enough to experience the tour all alone with the guide. Grant is an absolute fan of LOTR himself and can therefore still tell a bit more about the seats. Impressive what was shot around Wellington. Be sure to do the full-day tour!

Incredible LOTR tour for any superfan - 10/10 Recommend the full day LOTR tour for any LOTR fan! We got to see all of the filming locations in Wellington and go to Weta Workshop. The lunch was also a nice addition. Grant was such an excellent tour guide and was helpful in taking pictures for everyone on the tour. We had a great day!

“Worth the Tour you will not be disappointed “ Most experienced driver as I do suffer from Anxiety. - From pick up to Drop off “ Our driver apology if I incorrectly spelt name Driver Weiwei very professional,Friendly, respectful, and simple Weiwei was extremely very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour, was a small group we all good on ,I could hear Weiwei preach all day so interesting Highly recommended this tour All day you get to see how remarkable and Talented our people are in workshop . After 45 years returning back to where it all started for me my birthplace Porirua “ had the best time short time back Wellington New Zealand .

Great Day - Our guide, Robbie, was around the filming of the movies quite a bit. He shared some great stories and managed the time well. We had a terrific day. Saw some magnificent scenery and inspiring creativity. We’re not LOTR groupies and we sure had a good time playing along.
