Great day of biking in Whitefish, Montana - This was our first trip to Whitefish and since we were arriving in the "shoulder season" between the summer at Glacier NP and ski season, we weren't sure what to do and were disappointed to learn the west entry to the park would be closed. We knew there must be things to do and see (after all, mountains and vistas probably don't recognize the park's borders!) but we were only there for 4 days so needed help to ensure we were making the most of our time. We also had the challenge of being a group in their 50s in at wide variety of fitness levels! We reached out to several outfitters and landed with Whitefish Outfitters for an e-bike trail ride and we are SO GLAD we did! Our guide, Gabe, picked us up and immediately put us at ease. He was great in how he worked with us from the very first minute to plan a day that would completely meet our needs (and limitations!). He was informative and kind. We all had a wonderful time regardless of our abilities and no one felt left out. The bikes were great - it was the first time on an e-bike for all of us - but everyone still felt like they got a sufficient workout. The trail he chose was really amazing and the views were phenomenal. He was also a great photographer...helmet head and all!...and don't even get me started on the restaurant recommendations - we filled a day with everything from amazing breakfast burritos to incredible sandwiches and steak dinners, in local haunts that would likely have been overlooked otherwise, compliments of our guide, Gabe. We stopped for lunch at an upper elevation lake and really loved the selections provided for our picnic while taking in the views. After filling our "tanks" we completed the tour with smiles all around. Coming up through the pass and beginning our descent with the wind in our hair - awesome. But that wasn't all...there was a cooler of welcomed refreshments in the van when we got back. Really couldn't ask for more from an outfitter or a guide. Would ABSOLUTELY use Whitefish Outfitters again and would totally request Gabe!
