Windsor Castle Visit - Driver friendly and right on time at both pick up at hotel and the castle. Very nice experience. We toured the apartments on our own and saw changing of the guard and were able to visit the chapel.

Turned Out Great - This tour did not turn out as planned due to miscommunication by Viator. Our driver, Kalam, was so very apologetic and provided us with alternative suggestions for our tour. While I am sure we would have enjoyed the original tour, we chose one of the suggestions of our guide and visited Hampton Palace instead. It was lemonade out of lemons! What an fascinating and incredible palace it turned out to be. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, as well as the drive through the area on our way to and from it. Kalam was nothing short of terrific!

Our Windsor Experience - We had a great driver. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We had a great drop off and viewed the Castle and surrounding Town. He promptly returned to us for our ride back to London. It was the best day of our trip.

Enjoyed Windsor tour - This was perfect because we were able to choose our time. We had a bike tour in the morning and the driver picked the 6 of us up right when the bike tour ended at the place it had rented. So we jumped in the car that was very clean and comfortable. Our driver was nice and tad quiet. The only thing to mention is that this private tour means more of the driving part is exclusive to your needs. There is no tour guide once you drive to the castle… which I thought was included but it is not. But that’s ok. They had headphones which were great! It took us about an hour and 15 minutes to get there from London. And we spent two hours in the castle and then home. We really enjoyed it. Not sure how much it would cost to get an Uber there and back along with tickets… might be a little cheaper…. But overall we were very pleased with this tour to have the driver get us at our own time.

Windsor Castle is great, BUT - Windsor Castle itself was amazing, but read the fine details of the “tour”. We were picked up at our hotel by a private driver. He was nice, drove a very nice car, and we enjoyed chatting with him on the one hour ride to the castle. We arrived at the castle and were dropped off, were told that guides aren’t allowed inside. We were met with very long lines. We showed a guard our tickets and asked which line to be in. He said the time on our ticket was for 12pm, so we couldn’t enter before that. That means we’d have to wait 3 hours to enter, but our driver would be back to pick us up at noon. I messaged Viator and then called me almost immediately to let me know that we had some sort of Golden ticket that would allow us to enter at any time. We were then allowed to skip the line completely and enter immediately. My frustration lies in the fact that there were too many people involved in the process that led to confusion on our part. Lots of details get lost in communication. Had we waited in that long line and then found out we had fast pass tickets, that would’ve been more frustrating. In summary, we were paying a private driver for driving us (1 hour each way) and then he was just waiting for us somewhere for 3 hours. I definitely recommend visiting this castle, but find a better way to arrive and just use the audio guide provided with your entry ticket to educate you on your castle tour. The nearby village looked charming and we would have loved to have had time to explore the area longer.
