Welcome to Armenia

Yerevan - Upon your arrival at the airport, we will transfer you to your hotel in Yerevan. After checking in, enjoy lunch at the “Wine Republic” restaurant. Following lunch, take a stroll through the charming pink city of Yerevan.

The city tour includes a visit to the statue of the national hero from the epic poem Sasuntsi David and the Cathedral of Gregory the Illuminator. Additionally, we will explore one of Yerevan’s most beloved spots, the Cascade architectural complex, and visit the Cafesjian Center for Contemporary Arts.

After the museum visit, we will walk around Republic Square. You may choose to rest briefly at the hotel before heading to dinner at “Yerevan Tavern,” where you will enjoy folk music, dance, and homemade wine. We will then walk to Republic Square to admire the “Singing Fountains” show.

Tour to Garni-Geghard and Cognac Tasting

Garni Temple - After breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a tour to Garni and Geghard.

Our first stop will be at the Charents Arch monument, where, weather permitting, we can enjoy a magnificent view of Mount Ararat. Garni, a pagan temple and symbol of pre-Christian Armenia, served as a royal summer residence.

After exploring this remarkable structure, we will visit the Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site. For lunch, we will dine at a local villager’s home, sampling lavash baked in a “tandoor,” along with vegetables and meat.

We will then return to Yerevan to visit the Matenadaran Museum, a research institute for ancient manuscripts. Following this, we will head to the renowned Yerevan Brandy Factory “Ararat.”

After touring the museum, which chronicles the history of Armenian brandy, we will sample two types of cognac. The evening will be free for you to enjoy in Yerevan.

Vayots Dzor Region

Vayots Dzor Province - We will depart from the hotel and travel to Vayots Dzor, Armenia’s southern wine region.

Our first stop is the Khor Virap Monastery, offering a breathtaking view of the biblical Mount Ararat. Here, we will recount the legend of Noah, who planted a vine and made the first wine after saving all living beings.

Next, we will visit the “Bird Cave,” where archaeologists have unearthed the world’s oldest shoe and a 6,000-year-old winery. Although excavations are ongoing, we will observe the activities within this mystical cave. We will then visit the Noravank Monastery complex, built in the 13th-14th centuries and nestled among mystical red rocks. In the Areni wine region, local winemakers produce the renowned Areni red wine from the indigenous grape of the same name.

We will tour and taste wine at the “Old Areni” factory, followed by dinner at a lovely restaurant featuring Armenian cuisine and beverages.

We will spend the night in the village of Hermon at the comfortable “LucyTour Hotel Resort,” with dinner served at the hotel’s restaurant.

The Northern Wine-Making Regions

Voskevaz Winery

Voskevaz Winery - The fifth day of our tour will be dedicated to shopping for Armenian delicacies and souvenirs.

We will visit the famous open-air market “Vernissage” to find Armenian souvenirs, followed by a trip to the GUM market for dried fruits and sweets. Lunch will be at the elegant “Voskevaz” restaurant.

After lunch, we will head to the “Voskevaz” winery, located in the village of the same name. This winery is renowned for its unique wines.

We will tour the beautiful Marans (vaults) of Voskevaz and then enjoy a tasting of exquisite Armenian wine paired with a selection of meats and cheeses. This will be the perfect conclusion to our wine tour in Armenia.
