Highlights
  • Ramla Bay - Ramla Bay is located at the bottom of a rich and fertile valley on the northern side of the island of Gozo. The village of Xagħra, located on one of the hills of Gozo, overlooks this valley. The terraced walls built by the farmers give the valley an appearance of a quilt when viewed from the high ridges surrounding it.

Ramla Bay is renowned for its golden ‘red sands’. This beautiful sandy beach offers the perfect spot to cool down and take a quick dip during the Summer months.

  • Ggantija Archaeological Park - Ġgantija (Maltese pronunciation: [dʒɡanˈtiːja], “Giantess”) is a megalithic temple complex from the Neolithic on the Mediterranean island of Gozo. The Ġgantija temples are the earliest of the Megalithic Temples of Malta and are older than the pyramids of Egypt. Their makers erected the two Ġgantija temples during the Neolithic (c. 3600–2500 BC), which makes these temples more than 5500 years old and the world’s second oldest existing manmade religious structures after Göbekli Tepe in present-day Turkey. Together with other similar structures, these have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Megalithic Temples of Malta.
  • Xlendi - Xlendi is a village in Malta situated in the south west of the island of Gozo. It is surrounded by the villages of Munxar, Fontana and Kerċem. The village is administered by Munxar,[1] but has its own coat of arms and motto. From March 2010, Xlendi has had its own 5-person “mini council” responsible for the main activities of the area.
  • Xlendi tower - Xlendi Tower (Maltese: Torri tax-Xlendi) is a small watchtower near Xlendi Bay, within the limits of Munxar on the island of Gozo in Malta. The tower is one of the Lascaris towers and dates to 1650; it is currently undergoing restoration.

It is the oldest of the four surviving watchtowers on Gozo.[a] The earlier Garzes and Marsalforn towers were destroyed in the 18th and 19th centuries.

  • Dwejra Bay - Dwejra, with its dramatic coastal formations and sea spilling over the rocks, is a magical attraction. Here you can swim in the spectacular deep sea of the bay, in the calm shallows of the inland sea or in the foamy waters around the Blue Hole – one of Gozo’s top dive-sites.

Dwejra is also home of the Fungus Rock or, as it is locally known, “Il-Ġebla tal-Ġeneral”, General’s Rock. It is so called in remembrance of the Italian General who centuries ago fell to his death while supervising quarrying in the area. History tells us that a special plant believed to have medicinal and healing properties used to grow on Fungus Rock and because of this the Rock used to be heavily guarded during the era of the Knights of Malta. Anyone caught stealing the crop was sentenced to death or to a life rowing the Knights’ galleys. The crop was picked and brought to the mainland using a primitive system of baskets and pulleys.

  • Inland Sea - A small enclosed bay at Dwejra Point is connected to the open sea through a large tunnel stretching approximately 80m. The walls on both sides are deep, vertical and overhanging for most of the way. This tunnel is only 6m deep at the start of the dive, immediately dropping down to 15m, and halfway through, the seabed is at 25m. The view as you look out into the deep indigo blue of the open sea is spectacular. Around the corner to both left and right, there are further vertical fissures and caves in the cliff face to be explored, while the marine life in this area is prolific.
  • Ta’ Pinu National Shrine - The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu (Maltese: Santwarju Bażilika tal-Madonna ta’ Pinu) is a Roman Catholic minor basilica and national shrine located some 700 metres (2,300 ft) from the village of Għarb on the island of Gozo, the sister island of Malta. The church is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu. The basilica is located in open countryside which allows visitors to enjoy beautiful views of the area and is of great national importance to Gozitans everywhere.
  • Marsalforn - Marsalforn (Pronounced: Marsa el-Forn, | Maltese: Marsalforn),[1] also written as M’Forn for shortcut purposes, is a town on the north coast of Gozo, the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago. The town lies between the hill-top towns of Xagħra and Żebbuġ. Associated with this town there is also the bay of Qbajjar. The town forms part of the locality of Żebbuġ. Marsalforn is one of the most popular tourist resorts on Gozo. It is well served with hotels, guest houses, restaurants, bars, and beaches. There is only a one small sandy beach in Marsalforn, however, along the rocky coastline there are a number of interesting swimming spots. Also, there’s only one police station in Marsalforn.
  • The Citadel - The Cittadella (Maltese: Iċ-Ċittadella), also known as the Castello (Maltese: Il-Kastell),[a] is the citadel of Victoria on the island of Gozo, Malta. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by the Cittadella is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Gaulos or Glauconis Civitas.

During the medieval period, the acropolis was converted into a castle which served as a refuge for Gozo’s population. A suburb began to develop outside its walls by the 15th century, and this area now forms the historic core of Victoria. The castle’s defences were obsolete by the 16th century, and in 1551 an Ottoman force invaded Gozo and sacked the Cittadella.

  • Church of St. John The Baptist - This beautiful church boats the 3rd largest dome in Europe (75m high). It is modelled on the Santa Maria della Salute Church in Venezia. The ‘Church within a church’ was built around the smaller, former church, which was meticulously dismantled and is now a musuem inside (small donation required to access museum, and the lift to access the roof where you can walk the perimeter of the dome and get a birds eye view of Gozo. The church took 20 years to build - as was funded by public money. A church ‘for the people and by the people’.

Highly recommend! - We did the Gozo Pride private jeep tour with Vince L and we had a great time. He was so good with our twins- very kind & we found him to be a helpful & accomodating person. He was happy to take pics for us and we appreciate that. He was very mindful of how we wanted to spend our time and planned as per that, so we got the most out of our day. We were lucky to have him- highly recommend doing this & don't be reluctant if you are family with young kids! The booking process was straighforward - I emailed them as the website form would'nt submit. Takes them a couple of days of respond & you pay a €100 deposit ahead & the rest on the day of the tour in cash. The transfer process was well managed- the pick up from the hotel to the boat, then boat to Gozo (roughly 25 mins & then, the other way around with a quick look at Comino from the boat.) All in all we thought it was good value if you want to enjoy without any hassle.

A great way to see all of Gozo. - We had a fantastic day on our jeep safari tour with our guide, Joe.Z. He was very knowledgeable about the island, friendly and great fun; he even treated us to a pastry from a local bakery. The island is beautiful and we were taken to lots of different sights. We had great time, laughed a lot and would recommend to anyone.

Super activity to discover Gozo - We were met in Gozo by our friendly guide Pauline, who would drive us around in her jeep. Not only was she super friendly, she was very passionate about the history and facts about Gozo, she gave us nice tips, such as the opportunity to sail between the rocks in Dwejra in a boat. There was plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful view everywhere, including for swimming, we enjoyed a delicious lunch (3 courses) at La rotunda with water and wine included. If you visit Malta, this is definitely recommended (ask for Pauline as a Dutch-speaking guide), it was also fun to do in a group. Thank you Pauline!!! We were happy to give you a little extra.

Highly recommended - We relied on these professionals for a guided jeep tour in Gozo in August. The owner was very kind, he made an exceptional person available to us: Giuseppe (Giuseppe.z) who spoke Italian and was responsible for managing this fantastic tour offering beautiful views that only a person from the island could know. Small moments of refreshment and laughter were the icing on the cake. Truly recommended trip, and maximum seriousness

Awesome tour - We had a fantastic day driving around Gozo. Our guide for the day was Keegan and he was awesome at explaining the sites and history involved. Lunch was mediocre but it didn’t spoil the day even though it was 43 degrees. We were taken to 3 swimming spots which was appreciated given the temperature

Great day touring Gozo! - Had a great time with our tour guide Joe (Keegan) yesterday! Knowing our time on Gozo was limited, he made sure we saw every last highlight and hidden gem of this beautiful island and really catered to the needs of our family. Joe, thanks for keeping us energized for a full day of touring despite the hot weather! We appreciate it!

Gozo ATV Experience and More +++ - From the moment we arrived to the company this experience was top notch. The pride that this company takes in making your excursion is top notch. Bikes are reviewed throughout the trip and at the end upon return to make sure they’re all operating at 100%. Our guides gave us the right level of history of this gorgeous island, along with sufficient time for pictures. They provided an informed overview of how to operate the machine and were patient with questions. The course of this tour is an opportune way to see a lot of sights all by ATV, incorporating some adventure and feeling the light breeze while out. I will definitely do this again on my next visit to Gozo. We also met Joseph the owner who is extremely welcoming and shows passion for his customers and making sure they have a great tour.

Good way to know Gozo - The tour was a great experience over all. Benny was a very nice guide and took us everywhere we wanted. He also added stops he thought we would enjoy. Absolutely adored te experience. A few things to keeep in mind: the jeeps are smal. I would say that no more than 4 adults (3 on the back and 1 on the front) would fit comfortably. We opted for a private tour to guarantee the space, and this was a life saver. The lunch it’s nothing special but decent food. Do not go with high expectations, though. The speed boat it’s not a pleasant experience for someone afraid of boats or that might get sea sick. It’s a quick trip, but the boat really speeds, and it’s not a smooth trip. Over all, glad to have experienced it.
