Xiaohao and Xishan Village are top-rated shooting locations in Xiapu, known for their rich scenes including frequent fishing activities, low-lying beaches that merge with shallow seas, and endless lavender fields. Xiaohao is particularly unique due to its S-shaped tidal waters that harmonize with the beach and stream textures.
Dongbi is ideal for capturing shoals and sunsets. Located two kilometers from Xihao towards Sansha, Dongbi Village is surrounded by mountains and seas, offering wide views and spectacular scenery. During the laver season, the shadows, boats, and sunsets make it a perfect spot for Xiapu photography enthusiasts to capture sunset seascapes.
Sansha Town is a renowned fishing ground in east Fujian Province, offering opportunities to photograph both scenic views and local life. Visitors can also enjoy fresh seafood here.
Huazhu offers a captivating sunrise. From a high vantage point, you can get a bird’s eye view of the sea. The orderly arrangement of buoy bamboo rafts, fish raft houses, and distant sailing boats create an ideal setting for photography. The fishermen of Huazhu, engaged in deep-sea farming and living on fishing rafts, are considered the true “sea people.” Photographers from around the world often stay overnight to capture the stunning sunrise, making it a revered spot for photography.

Xiapu photography is primarily organized along four lines extending from east to west and north, with Xiapu County serving as the main hub. Notably, the eastern line which includes Xiaohao, Dongbi, Sansha and Huazhu, is the most coveted among the four. It’s the route that attracts the most tourists and whose photographs are frequently seen in national and international photography contests.
