"Whittier to the White House Bus Tour" is a blast! - The library is amazing, but this review is about the "Whittier to the White House" Bus Tour. It was just a delight from start to finish. I was so pleasantly surprised to learn how many of these historic structures are still standing (and are looking so good!), and our guide had so, so many fun facts to share about the Nixon family and California (Whittier) history. The handout of historical photos (photocopies) was so neat, and helped us envision what each site looked like back in the day. My personal highlight was seeing the house where author Jessamyn West started writing The Friendly Persuasion! Highly recommended for fans of local and political history.

Even better than anticipated - We were pleasantly surprised by how well done this library and museum is done. From the docents available throughout to the depth of knowledge to be gained from the displays, you come away knowing more about Nixon than one might think. I do recommend the intro video as it does not hide from the Watergate scandal but instead asks you to look at the entirety of Nixons life and career. Really well done!

Great visit - So much history! We really enjoyed the visit. Seemed pretty honest about Watergate and all of that mess. I forgot that Nixon opened up China, started the EPA, and started the war on cancer.

Library Helpful Hints/Ideas - What you should know- 1. A complete visit will take about 3 hours. There is a lot of reading! 2. Younger than teenagers, and even most teenagers will not enjoy. 3. Parking is very convenient. I would have felt comfortable leaving luggage in the back of a SUV, uncovered (from a security perspective). There are many trees to park under in the warmer weather seasons. 3. The welcome video is worth the watch. Enough room to walk in and sit without anyone needing to get up and move if you walk in mid movie. 3. There are docents in a few areas. 4. Nixon's historic home is worth the wait for a walk through. 5. The replica of the White House ballroom is a fun space to see. 6. There is no cafe/food on the premise. East, off of Yorba Linda Blvd is a marketplace with many restaurants. Also in the complex is Bristol Farms, a grocery store with many prepared foods and a nice indoor/outdoor area to eat. Nice variety of food to choose from.

Great family day activity - My 20 year old sons did not want to go and thought it would be boring. They thanked me for taking them when we were done. A nice family activity on Father’s Day. I would encourage everyone to take their kids even if you’re getting pushback.

Enjoyed this so much! - This museum is so interesting. I could have spent the entire day here. The docents are excellent and enjoy their job. I have been to several presidential libraries and this one is one of my favorites. After visiting here, I realized that Nixon was actually a good president. I don’t believe the historian rankings that put him near the bottom. That is truly what we have been told to believe, but I have reassessed what I have been told about various people during the last few years. My visit here taught me that he was a complex individual who did a lot of good.

Complete and interesting - The museum is chock full of memorabilia from Richard Nixon's early life, adult career, and presidential tenure. It is a well-organized museum. As a bonus, his childhood home is next door and included in the tour. I went away with a better understanding of Richard Nixon and appreciation of his rise from farm boy to president.

Great day at the Nixon Library - Excellent place to visit. Expected to stay two hours but spent five. The gardens were beautiful So much history I had forgotten. The tour guides were especially helpful, with lots of great bits of information. No question went unanswered. Makes me want to visit other presidential libraries now.

Highly recommend this presidential library - One of the better presidential libraries with a lot of interesting details about his presidency and no shying away from the Watergate scandal either. The site included his boyhood home as well as a Presidential helicopter. We spent over 4 hours here to really see and read everything. There is no cafe on the property but many options just a short drive away.
