Fun and scenic - Highlight of our trip! Jennifer was our guide and we had a wonderful time learning about the Yukon and surround area from her. The stops were beautiful and meaningful- we saw the fault line! The sled dogs were fun- the puppies were more interested in roughhousing with each other but they were fun to watch! My husband did get a couple’s attention with the rug toys. The sled dog ride was like slow motion roller coaster and not in a bad way. We splashed through huge mud puddles and watched the dogs pull us around curves and up and down hills. The ATV was assisting sometimes but the dogs were pulling for the most part. Then the girl explained how they take care of the dogs and I was so impressed! The trainers really love what they do and it was fun to see the dogs in their element. The gold panning was fun and slightly underwhelming, but it did not diminish h the trip whatsoever. We would book this trip 100 times again!

Highlight of our trip! - This was one of the highlights of our trip! We happened to see the Klondike Tours bus at the dock and Jenifer let us on and took us to downtown Skagway. We were a little early for our tour so we did our gold mining while we waited for the rest of our group. We had a little bit of time still so we shopped around and got some Alaskan fry bread (definitely recommend!). When it was time, we all boarded our bus and drove about 80 kilometers into Canada. We were pleasantly surprised! We made many stops along the way and took some breathtaking photos. We were even stopped on the road so that a bear could cross! Jenifer was very knowledgeable about natural landmarks and shared a lot of great info during our drive. When we got to the dog sledding, we played with the puppies and some of the dogs for a little bit (which everybody, especially our kids, loved). The dogs are super sweet and were very friendly. We then learned about some of the gear and training from a musher. As we were learning, some of the dogs came in to say hello and joined in on the learning. After we were educated, we hopped on the side by side and had the dogs take us on a ride! We went around a little trail and back. The dogs are treated so well here! They were so eager to be picked to be part of the team that pulled us and we even stopped at a pond for them to cool off/drink some water. The dogs are AMAZING and some of them train to run in the Iditarod. On our way back, we stopped a few more times at signs and natural landmarks and Jenifer brought us back to downtown Skagway. This was definitely one of the best things we did on our trip. We saw so many beautiful places we weren’t expecting to see AND got to play with puppies! I would 1,000% recommend this excursion and would definitely do it again!

awesome excursion - I originally booked this same excursion thru my cruise line then saw this thru Viator for half the price. It was totally worth it. the excursion is over 4hr long and the shuttle ride up to the mountain was beautiful and our guide Denise made plenty of stops to give us opportunities to take pictures. Denise was funny, engaging, friendly and very knowledgeable and shared interesting history of Skagway. our family loved the dog sled ride and being able to interact with the huskies. well worth the money

Excellent experience - We met a participant in the Iderod (sp) and his wife who gave a very interesting and informative talk as well as a demonstration of the dogs pulling the sled. We also got to hold the puppies and pet the dogs. We were also taught how to pan for gold and got to try it. Everyone was guaranteed to find a few flakes of gold. There is not much walking involved with this tour

Puppies and Panning for Gold - What Fun!! - We did a few excursions on our Alaskan cruise and this was by far our favorite. Max Glacier and Slim were corny and funny. But the dogs, the puppies what can I say. People have asked me my favorite moment of the trip and by far it was when Tom Brady, the puppy, fell asleep while I was holding him. I really appreciated how much we learned about what it takes to run the Iditarod and also learning about the dogs. Would highly recommend this excursion.

Gold and Alaskan Husky Puppies! - This excursion had it all! We were really pleased how structured it was. Started with panning for gold and seamlessly went to meeting actual participants from the Iditarod. Hooked up the dogs and watched them race around the track. Holding the puppies made the experience something our family will never forget.
