- Zaanse Schans - From Amsterdam, it’s about a 30-minute drive to the Zaanse Schans. Upon arrival at the Zaanse Schans (windmills), you can enjoy a wooden shoe demonstration, stroll around, and learn about the history of the windmills. Afterward, you will head to the cheese farm, which is about a 25-minute drive away.
- Jacobs Hoeve Cheese Farm by Henri Willig - Upon arriving from the Zaanse Schans, you will learn about the history of Gouda cheese. They will explain how Gouda cheese is made, and you can sample various flavors. Afterward, you can visit the stables to see the cows. Once finished, you will head to Volendam, which is about a 5-minute drive away.
- Volendam - Upon arriving in Volendam, you will have some free time. Taste fresh fish from a traditional cart and admire the old port filled with Dutch ships. Try on a traditional Dutch outfit and have your picture taken to blend in with the locals. In the town center, walk along the dyke (boulevard) and explore the various restaurants and shops. From Volendam, it’s about a 30-minute drive back to Amsterdam.

Experience traditional Dutch culture on this 5-hour private journey from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans, a clog and cheese factory, and Volendam. After pickup from your accommodation in Amsterdam, your driver/host will take you to the first destination of the day: Zaanse Schans, a region of the Netherlands full of traditional structures. Tour the wooden dwellings, windmills, and quaint little shops.
