Zaanse Schans - Discover the great Dutch Windmills and see them from inside. There are 7 windmills left at the Zaanse Schans and a few are open to visit. You can see the paint windmill (that is where Rembrandt the great Dutch artist purchased his paint), a saw mill, a spice mill and many more. There is also a possibility to take nice pictures of the windmills.
Admission to the windmill park is included in this tour and also an entrance ticket for 1 windmill of your choice is included in this tour.

Experience a half-day exploratory tour to the Netherlands’ windmills, countryside, and a local clog and cheese factory, and Volendam. This journey takes you to a unique Dutch park, the Zaanse Schans, situated near Amsterdam. Here, you’ll encounter some of the most extraordinary windmills in the Netherlands including a paint windmill, sawmill, spice mill, and a mill for peanut oil. Following this, you’ll witness the craftsmanship behind the traditional Dutch clogs and even have the opportunity to purchase clogs, wooden shoes, and souvenirs. The next stop is the Henri Willig farm, where you’ll learn about their cow treatment methods, see milking processes, and even meet and interact with the baby cows. Afterwards, you’ll get to sample over 30 varieties of delicious Dutch cheese free of charge! Lastly, you’ll explore Volendam, where you can savor a meal at one of the finest fish restaurants, buy delectable Dutch waffles, or simply delight in the beautiful harbor. The tour duration is roughly 5 hours and includes pick-up and drop-off in Amsterdam.

Worth while Holland experience. - I enjoyed waking through the old windmills and especially liked watching a clog beeing made. At the cheese factory it was great to see the robot milking the cow. Delicious cheeses were available to taste too. The fishing village of Volendam was quaint with great food.

Lovely morning excursion outside of Amsterdam - We had a very nice morning with Gillio. We were picked up on time at 8:30; it was a clean, comfortable vehicle, and he was a good driver. Pleasant conversation as well.
Gillio got us to each location ahead of the big tours, so we were able to enjoy each stop without crowds.
The windmills were interesting, as was the clog making process. The cheese factory was also an interesting stop. We learned about their ethical cattle farming and were told how the cheese was originally made, but it would have been neat also to see how they make it now. We made purchases at each stop - there was no pressure whatsoever to buy anything - we decided to buy. While the selection was best at the stops we made, we noticed later during our time in Amsterdam that the prices were at least 10% more expensive than other places. Just an FYI if you are thinking of buying anything.
We then spent an hour on our own at Volendam, which was plenty of time to take in the sights, stroll down the streets, and sample a few items from various restaurants that we passed by. Thank you, Gillio, for a great morning!

The best day! - We had the most amazing day with Ben as our tour guide and driver. Not only was he knowledgeable about history and the sites, he was the most amazing person. We loved him! The car was pure luxury. The places he took us were so interesting. He showed us things on our private tour that the groups don’t get to see. Everyone who can should go on this tour. You won’t be disappointed.
