Besides internationally recognized varieties like merlot and cabernet sauvignon, there’s a generous selection of local and native species grown such as su plavac mali, vranac, kadarun, dalmatinka, and so on. Notably, the native homegrown variety Malvasia Dubrovačka bijela and Maraština, which are nearly extinct and whose preservation is of great significance, have a distinctive place. Numerous Konavli wineries, guided by global trends, manufacture genuine wines that pair perfectly with local culinary delicacies.
