BALTRA

Isabela Island - It is recommended to book flights with an early arrival time to Baltra airport to make sure you can enjoy all of the activities of the tour.

Option 1: Itinerary for flights arriving at Baltra before 11:00 AM

At Baltra airport, an English speaking guide will pick you up to go to the port of Puerto Ayora where you can enjoy your lunch. Around 02:00 PM, you’ll take the small public speedboat to Isabela Island. This can be a bumpy, wet ride. Upon arrival on Isabela Island, a driver will pick you up and you’ll visit the Flamingo Lagoon (short visit). After that, the driver will drop you off at your hotel.

Option 2: Itinerary for flights arriving at Baltra after 11:00 AM

If your flight is scheduled to arrive after 11:00 AM, you’ll stay at Santa Cruz Island on the first day because the last speedboat to Isabela Island leaves around 02:00 PM. Please note that you won’t have lunch if you arrive after 02:00 PM. The rest of the tour usually looks like this: Day 2: Bahia half day tour & Charles Darwin Station, Day 3 morning boat to Isabela, Los Tuneles, Day 4 morning boat to Santa Cruz and transfer out.

Additional Information

This Economical Galapagos Trip is tailored for visitors looking for affordability while wanting to explore the key sights of the Galapagos Islands and engage in a multitude of activities.

Small-Group Dynamics: The exploration begins on any day of your choice throughout the year. This trip comprises a combination of both group and private day tours. Each day on the group tours, you’ll find yourself among new faces and guided by a different tour guide. On the contrary, during your private tours, a single guide will be dedicated to you and your companions, with no addition of other guests.

 • If your flight is delayed or canceled and you cannot make it to Puerto Ayora in time to take the last speedboat to Isabela Island, which departs around 02:00 PM, the team assists you with finding accommodation on Santa Cruz Island but this will be on your own expense. You will miss the planned activities.
 • It is recommended to book flights with an early arrival time to the Galapagos Islands and a late departure time from the Galapagos Islands to make sure you can enjoy all of the activities of the tour. Late arrivals and/or early departures mean you might miss some activities.
 • You will have a guide during the whole program, except on the boats between the islands.
 • Please try to bring small bags and luggage, The Galapagos public transportation is on average small and it takes more time and space when you bring large baggage.
 • Tap water on the Galapagos Islands might contain bacteria and should not be consumed, not even for brushing your teeth. Bottled or purified water is always recommended.
 • Inform yourself about food safety when traveling to tropical countries. Take the necessary precaution to avoid food poisoning (always wash your hands before eating, don’t eat ‘street food’, only eat peeled fruits, etc.).

Amazing Holiday!! - Andrés customised a 6 day trip with upgraded hotels and a couple of free days for scuba diving. He kept within our budget, considerably cheaper than UK or US tour companies. All the English speaking guides are locals, with fantastic knowledge and enthusiasm. We all learned an incredible amount, presented in ways that were easy to understand by the children. The boat trip to Bartolomé with Maurice is one of the best days of my life! We preferred San Cristobal island to Santa Cruz. It has a more relaxed atmosphere and the Hotel Casa Playa Mann is great. I will be using Rebecca Adventure Travel again and recommend them to anyone.

Once in a lifetime Galapagos Cruise/Tour - We booked a 4 day 3 night Galapagos tour on the legend for my wife and i and two of our teenage kids.. Staff at Rebecca's was very knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. Trip was amazing. We had an issue with our flight on the way there and they stepped in to help and get the issue resolved and the boat upgraded us to a balcony suite for the inconvenience which was a nice treat.

Well organised, great price, very friendly - We had an amazing few days on this tour. It offers a very similar itinerary to many other tours but at a considerably lower price. It was well run, we felt safe and very well looked after. The tour guides were informative and friendly. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with good air-con and the meals were very tasty and filling. Their communication from the beginning was excellent - always available and answering questions quickly and fully. 10/10!

So much to see! Nice, rounded variety of things to do including hiking, snorkeling, the history of the islands and more. Good variety of places to eat included. All our guides spoke very good English and were very knowledgeable. Late January - early February was a great time to visit as the weather and water temperature was great! Cindy B.

My husband and I had an incredible... -
My husband and I had an incredible, once in a lifetime experience touring the Galapagos Islands for 5 days. The tour provided door-to-door service from the moment we landed. I was impressed that the tour included 3 meals per day, hotels, and most of the transportation. The hotel rooms were clean and every local person that I encountered was friendly and hospitable. The tours groups were small and the guides provided us insights to island life and the wildlife unique to the islands. I enjoyed all of the tours including Flamingo Lagoon, Sierra Negra, Concha Perla lagoon, Darwin Station, Tortuga Bay, Santa Fe island snorkeling and our side trip to El Chato giant tortoise reserve. We traveled in August and the weather was perfect. We mostly experienced overcast skies and mild temperatures. The water was clear and warm for snorkeling. El Chato reserve allowed us to walk around and see free grazing giant tortoises. Each day, we met different people from literally around the world. Island hopping tours were perfect for us because we were able to support the local people, it was far less expensive than a cruise, we had personalized tours, and we slept at hotels at night. Cruise tours do not support the local businesses as much and you do not have as much time to explore the islands on your own.

The trip of a lifetime! - Our small group of 5 did the 5-day Island Hopping tour in late January, and had an absolutely wonderful time. Each day was jam-packed with activity, so if you are looking to spend hours sunbathing on a beach or laying out by the pool, this is not the adventure for you. Each of our guides was professional and personable. Daniel, our Naturalist Guide on Santa Cruz Island was amazing with all the information he provided during our tour of the Darwin Station and Tortuga Bay. Also, if you are wanting 5-star hotels, keep in mind you are on remote islands where most things are brought in, and may have to develop an affinity for red tuna and rice.. (although if you drink enough Pilsner, you will be happy, happy)! The hotels were comfortable and clean - hot water and water pressure were touch and go, so I recommend thinking of it is a camping trip where the hot water and some water pressure is a bonus if you can get it. :)

We had a wonderful experience and... -
We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend it to others. We had great guides except for one, and already shared that information with the company. You need to love the outdoors and physical activity and be ready to experience changes in weather conditions with a sense of adventure. There is a fair amount of boat travel between islands, but I loved that too. It was great to see the volcano, all of the many animals in the wild, and our first snorkeling session was great with a wonderful guide. One of the really great services was our last day pick-up as we left. We added 2 more days on another island, not related with this tour. The company made sure they had all of our arrival and departure times. The young man met us when we returned to Santa Cruz and stayed with us all the way until we checked into our flight. That was so helpful and such a relief as he helped us through crowds, got our luggage on and off trucks, busses, and ferries. I will say that if you like a vacation at an all inclusive resort, this probably is not for you. But if you love life and are up for an adventure, this is the way to go.

We had a wonderful time! I made... -
We had a wonderful time! I made several hotel changes before our eventual pick-up, and the Viator personnel kept track of my MANY e-mails. Thank you for this! The hike to the Volcano was gorgeous, though a little longer than we anticipated. Had we known it would be over 10 miles, we would have brought our own supply of snacks, as the supplied lunch was not quite enough sustenance for the hike, AND lunch. The guides were all top-notch, and very well-educated. The other meals were solid. The style of meal preparation was simple and straightforward, but the actual food was EXCELLENT quality. The transfers were prompt. The group size was perfect. I would use Viator again.
