Day 1: Arriving Zhangjiajie

Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Zhangjiajie - Your private Driver will meet and greet you at the airport or train station. It takes approximately 15 minutes to transfer to your own prearranges hotel in Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan area. Free and easy on your own.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park/Bailong Evlevator /Yuanjiajie /Tianzi Mountain

Yuanjiajie - Your guide will take you to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park where you will take the green bus of the park to Bailong Elevator Station, and then ascend to Yuanjiajie Mountain by the Bailong Elevator, a glass elevator built onto the cliff of the mountain. On the summit, you will take an 2 hours hike to discover the Pillar of the Southern sky that inspired the famous “Hallelujah Mountains” in the Blockbuster movie, Avatar. proceed to the Platform of Forgetfulness to enjoy the views of nearby peaks, and then walk across the NO. 1 Bridge Under the Heaven.

Tianzi Mountain - Next, take a green bus to Tianzi Mountain to explore “Imperial Brush,” “Xihai Stone Forest,” and “Fairy Lady Presents Flowers. Tianzi means “Heavenly Prince”. Mt.Tianzi is an area for the hero of Tujia Minority, who commands local to fight with government army in Ming Dynasty. The scenic spots here are combined with stories and legends of this fate-selected prince of Heaven. Visually, the view is different from other parts of park: the peaks are much thinner and sharper, since it’s has the biggest opening platform, we can definitely experience the most spectacular view of sandstone peak forest in this park. and it’s one of the highlights in Zhangjiajie Scenic Area.

Golden whip stream/ Huangshizhai/Glass Bridge

Golden Whip Brook - (Classic & Popular Spot, Easy Flat Walking, 2.5hours)

Golden whip stream (Jin Bianxi) is regarded as the 1 of the most beautiful Streams in China. It’s 6km long with a well-paved walkway at the bottom of valley, which takes about 2.5 hours easy & flat walk between 2 ends. ( For Photographer,may be 2/3 day). On both sides of the bottom walkway, there are hundreds of different-shaped sandstone peaks erecting by the clear stream with lovely legends and interesting stories from locals. Most travelers would be shockingly amazed the scenery along the way. sometimes, if lucky, wild monkeys would bring more fun and vitality of nature.

The Grand Canyon of Zhangjiajie - After That we will proceed to Glass bridge, This bridge is not only the highest, but also the longest glass bridge in the world. It is not for the faint-hearted. (the Glass bridge is built between two mountains of zhangjiajie Grand canyon, it is 375meters long and 6meters wide , With a height of 300meters from bottoms )

Tianmen Mountain - Transfer (approx. 4-hour Escort by Driver Only) to Fenghuang

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Check out of your own prearranged Zhangjiajie hotel this morning ,Guide and driver will take you to visit Tianmen Mountain, proceed to take Tianmen Mountain Cable Car, the world’s longest cable car, to the top of Tianmen Mountain which is the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie City. Experience thrilling Skywalk that is made of glass and see the 99-Turn Road as well as 999-Step leading to the gate of the Tianmen. Finish your trip in Zhangjiajie . So magical - My tour guide was Dragon. Yep! That’s his English name! LOL. The tour was amazing! Dragon don’t speak English much but we have smart phones and we used wechat and translation apps. It was great. The mountains are mysterious. It was very foggy when I was there but the fog added mystery and magic to the scenery. Hunan became my favorite China province. I will come back one day on a different season because I also want to see how the mountains look without the fog. Fenghuang Ancient City is so spectacular! You have to stay at least one night in the city so you can roam the city and hangout in one of their music clubs and feel like you are 21 again. So fun! My guide took care of me and made sure I went off safely to my next destination. I highly recommend this tour and ask to have Dragon as your private tour guide.

Zhangjiajie-Fenghuang 5-day Dream Tour - It was a great adventure and a non-forgettable experience in those 5-days, visiting the Zhangjiajie Tiamen mountain, the Wulingyuan caves, streams and lakes, and the National Forest Park mountains (The Avatar Hallelujah mountain). Special thanks to my private tour guide named 'Dragon Holiday', a good driver and a tour guide and a friend, a Zhangjiajie local, who did his job and beyond that with great service, from airport-to-car-to-hotel-to-tour, and all the way back. Excellent tour of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Fenghuang ancient town - I am glad we chose to have a tour guide to see this park and to travel to Fenghuang ancient town. It was very helpful to have a guide facilitate getting tickets to the entrance to the park, cable car, and elevator. Also, the buses within the park would be very confusing without a guide as they go up and down the mountain and have many different stops. Our guide, Yin AKA Ester was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating to our plans. My friend had lost a painting in the airport and Yin tirelessly called the airport every day for her to see if it had been found. On our way to Fenghuang, I had asked if we could stop at a tea farm. While we did not stop at the tea farm, we stopped at an area where we tasted and bought very delicious tea. I had the best tea in my life here! We also had a late flight on the last day and she accommodated us to make a stop back in Zhangjiajie city and spend some time walking around, going for a foot massaage, and having dinner so that we did not have to waste hours just sitting at the airport. Our driver apparently had given our guide a hard time with our desire to stay a bit later in Fenghuang on the last day, but she made it possible for us to have a little extra time. Yin spoke English well and explained some history and different rock formations in the park. She took us to restaurants where we had delicious, authentic chinese food. We would not have known what to order without our guide. If I were to change a few things about this tour, I would add a stop at the glass bridge that traverses Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (not just the glass walkway that wraps around the side of the mountain). I would also definitely add more time in Fenghuang as we requested on the last day. If there were time to stop at a tea farm on the way to or from Fenghuang, I would love to have been able to do that too! I would highly recommend taking this tour to be able to make the most of your time and experience various areas of the park and Fenghuang ancient town!

Three times visit Zhangjiajie, thanks Venus warmly reception - The most intreresting of Zhangjiajie's siteseeing is:Tianzi Mountain, It is famous for the movie "Avatar", also the local food is delicious, Venus is so familiar with the local restaurant,she intorduces the dishes" three kinds of meat hotpot" is my favorite one,the fresh air can fresh my head, bright my eyes and cheerful my mind in the mountain. I'm surely will visit Zhangjiajie for the fourth time.

It was best travel I have done! I was... - <p>It was best travel I have done! I was worried about there was no review. But I am glad I took this tour. Food they ordered for you were amazing. And our tour guide knew what he is doing so we never wait for the line. He knew all the spots and he has his own spots to look around Zhangjiajie! We had so much fun! And he took a lot of photos for us and he did really good. I am so happy I took this tour. I command this program so much! Fenghuang Old town was nice but next time I would rather spend more time at the Zhangjiajie!</p>

Fenghuang Old Town - Stayed in a small hotel in the Village - just a bed and shower/western toilet. All we needed for the night. Next morning walk around the village beside the river and old town wall. crossed over the river on the stepping stones. Great views of the old timber houses along side the river. Ended up in the town centra.

Pure adventure. - If you don't speak Chinese you better be with someone who does. It's a neat town, for the rugged adventure type. We spent all day and night here and I didn't run into another Caucasian. We had the best Hunan food in the newer part of town.
