Fun!! - We had a great experience! You’ll take a bus (Chiva) to several stops along the mountain: the adventure park, a cable car to get you closer to a waterfall and to the pailon del Diablo. For a “bus tour” this is a very physical experience: - the Chiva is not allowed in the city so you will need to walk a few blocks from the meeting place to the Chiva station (with your tour guide; only if it does not pick you up at your hotel) - the adventure park has zip lining, the “crystal bridge” and a Tarzan jump - at pailon del Diablo you’ll walk multiple sets of stairs and declining/inclining ramps to get where you need to go Our tour was in Spanish (which is what we selected), but there is an English option as well! The tour guide was knowledgeable, patient, and fun! Would definitely recommend for someone who wanted to explore the most possible in the shortest time (like us!)

Devil's Cauldron - We stopped her for a visit while in Baños. The waterfall is amazing with a short trail that follows the river. There are a couple of long suspension bridges you walk over before following steps down right next the the waterfall. There is even an area where you can get somewhat behind the waterfall, which is cool. There are pretty flowers along the path, and they have bathrooms, and concessions. The river itself is really cool to see pour straight down a few hundred feet. Worth a visit!

Only el Diablo is very beautiful. - By mountain bike from Banos to the 7 waterfalls. Good news is that the route is 70% downhill. Immediately outside Banos you will see a sign to the right with the indication of the 7 waterfalls. DON'T TAKE THAT TURN. That road goes up and is almost impossible to walk + you don't see the waterfalls. Continue cycling on the main road. The waterfalls are coming n will automatically come to your right. You see the waterfalls from quite a distance, but they are beautiful. Numerous opportunities along the way for bunjee jumping or similar attractions. End point about 25 km is Diablos waterfall. You can park your bike there and visit the Warerval on foot. He can take two routes. A longer one and a short one. The short one is about a 20 minute walk. The don't know. The result is beautiful. Then back to Banos with a small truck. Cycling is also possible, but then you have to go 70% uphill. Those trucks are scammers. Price per person is 1.50 but they charge 3. You have no choice.

Tour ok but difficult to joint it - The tour activity was fine (many nice stops, particularly Pailon del Diablo that is so huge!) However, the reservation was with a local agency who manages the booking with the tour bus company. So the local agency is just an intermediary, not the tour operator. When we got to the local agency, no one was expecting us (even though they contacted us 2 days before to make sure we’d be on time) and tried to sell us another tour. No one spoke english there so it was quite an adventure to finally have someone walk with us 10 minutes to the bus departing site. And it was not a bilingual tour at all. So my advice would be to buy that tour directly with an agency (there’s one every corner) when you get in Banos.
