Magnificent scenery, fun day - We greatly enjoyed this day trip. Not only was the scenery magnificent, the bus was comfortable, our driver Alfredo was safe and helpful, and our guide Miguel was excellent - knowledgeable, friendly and fluidly bi-lingual. His enthusiasm for the geography, history and culture of the Basque country made the tour very interesting. And his sense of humor and musical talent made it a particularly fun day.

Worth the detour - Magnificent views, we took the funicular, very beautiful place which makes you want to come back. We chose to park in the boulevard car park. Very well located, close to the historic center and La Concha.

GGood tour with an energetic tour guide, Wallace. Ample time given for both sites. - We decided to walk to the church in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe to get the full experience of being in a Game of Thrones shooting location. Tiring but exhilarating! Tour of San Sebastián gave us a glimpse of the place, with just enough time to have lunch or Pintxos and cold beers.

day trip out of bilbao - it’s a worthwhile day trip out of bilbao to san juan de gaztelugatxe and san sebastián. one thing to note when you visit san juan de gaztelugatxe is you need proper shoes with soles that have a grip as you descend and ascend stone stairs that can be slippery. also it’s not an easy walk to see the church so you’ll need to take your time and bring water. lastly pay attention when you return as several people miss the right turn back up the stairs that you initially descended. san sebastián was pretty city but i felt i could spend 2 hours and saw what i needed.

San Sebastian is great, this tour is not. - San Sebastian is beautiful! Definitely worth seeing if you're in the Basque country. I wouldn't recommend this particular trip. The stop at San Juan De Gaztelugatxe was after San Sebastian, in the hottest part of the day. Our guide led us down 'the long way' which was a steep dirt and gravel road, much longer than the normal route, that we took on the way back (which is pavers). He didn't allow enough time for us to make it to the top, but some people went anyway, causing us to arrive back to Bilabo 45 minutes late. Our bus was full, nearly 70 people, with two language groups combined. This made the tour of San Sebastian unnecessarily slow, as the guide repeated everything twice. This company does not use headsets, so nearly 70 people had to crowd around to try to hear him. It felt unorganized and overly crowded. Take a bus to San Sebastian on your own and enjoy this lovely little town!

The trip to San Juan was... - The trip to San Juan was amazing, the guide was fine , it was a very large group approx 50 , but we split up in San Sebastián into English & spainish speaking . The guided walk in San Sebastián is very short and only gives a few historical stories. A nice trip

San Sebastian - Large group with no way to follow or hear the guide. Would have helped to have Whispers and/or a flag to make it a better experience. And then to also know ahead of time how much walking would be required to plan for wearing comfortable shoes. Sights were beautiful though. Could have included more in San Sebastian though.

Lies and inaccessibility - If they tell you they can accommodate you for a stroller or a walker they are lying. They have steep stairs to the bus with no access and my handicapped mother was turned away. We were sent away with no refund, no exchange despite having inquired the day before. We had expected not to be able to go up all the stairs at Gaztelugatxe, but thought we had confirmation we could at least enjoy the view from below and the San Sebastián portion of the tour. Instead they just took our money and said sorry, your problem, not ours.
