Highlights
  • Cape Town Central - Our tour begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Cape Town and nearby areas at 9:00 am (flexible) for this private tour to the Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins colony. We start with a brief city orientation drive to view key monuments and buildings in the city center.
  • Bo-kaap - Next, we stop in Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay Quarter) for a photo opportunity with its colorful houses, which hold significant historical value. You might even get a chance to greet some locals if they are around. Your tour guide will explain the historical importance of the colorful houses.
  • Camps Bay - We then take a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, with mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, passing through Three Anchor Bay, Bantry Bay, and Clifton, and stopping in Camps Bay. Maiden’s Cove is an ideal spot for memorable photos with stunning views of the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay beach.

This cove is one of the best places in Cape Town for panoramic photos of the ocean, Camps Bay Beach, and views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, and the beautiful suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay. We call this the Kodak moment.

  • Seal Island - If you choose the optional 45-minute boat trip to Seal Island, please note that this excursion is weather-dependent. Bring a light jersey as temperatures can drop at sea.
  • Hout Bay - Continuing along the Atlantic scenic seaboard, we pass through Llandudno, known for some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa, until we reach Hout Bay. At Hout Bay harbor, you can either take a 45-minute boat cruise to Seal Island to see the seals or shop at the market.
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive - Leaving Hout Bay, we drive along Chapman’s Peak and stop at the viewpoint for breathtaking photos. It’s no wonder Chapman’s Peak is one of the most scenic routes in the world.
  • Noordhoek Farm Village - We continue our coastal journey with an optional stop in Noordhoek, offering stunning views of Noordhoek and Long Beach below. Travelers can enjoy some of the best coffee brewed in Cape Town at the Village Roast at their own expense.
  • Cape Point Vineyards Tasting Room - An optional stop for wine tasting at the beautiful Cape Point Vineyards is available. Surrounded by picturesque vineyards and ocean views, the cool sea breezes create a slow-growing season, resulting in a unique Sauvignon Blanc known worldwide for its rich minerality, structure, and tone. An optional sit-down lunch at their restaurant or a picnic lunch overlooking the man-made dam is highly recommended.
  • Cape of Good Hope - We explore the Cape of Good Hope and take an iconic photo with the Cape of Good Hope name board. We will also visit the Dias & Vasco Da Gama monuments. Along the way, you’ll see beautiful beaches and various fauna and flora.
  • Old Cape Point Lighthouse - From the Cape of Good Hope, we drive to Cape Point. Upon arrival, you can choose between a 15-minute hike or taking the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse. Here, we will explore the most south-western point of Africa, known as Cape Point, where the cold Benguela current from the Atlantic Ocean meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean.
  • Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - Our next stop is the Penguins colony at Boulders Beach, where your guide will escort you to the viewing point to see some of the 2500 breeding pairs of African Penguins up close. You might even spot one or two of these charming creatures walking alongside you on the boardwalk.
  • Muizenberg Beach - On our return route, we pass Muizenberg, where you will see the colorful beach huts used as changing rooms. These huts are reminiscent of the “bathing machines” of the 1800s, which were cart-like structures wheeled to the water’s edge for ladies to change into their bathing costumes.
  • Cape Town Central - Drop-off will be back at your accommodation in Cape Town at approximately 6:00 pm.

Wonderful scenic peninsula tour! - Firston was our guide for the day and he was incredibly accommodating and helpful. We mentioned it was our last day in Cape Town but had not made it up to Table mountain yet and we adjusted our day to ensure we were back in time to experience the sunset from Table mountain. Throughout the day he was very knowledgeable about all the areas we drove through and helped to provide history and context to what we were seeing. We had a great day!

David is the best possible guide for your Cape Town experience! He is so knowledgeable.... - Yesterday we were showered with good luck- first of all the rain stopped for our private scenic drive around the Cape of Good Hope, and secondly we had David as a guide. He is the consummate professional and so very knowledgeable on any subject. I have been to Cape Town a few times and I learned more on our day with David than on any previous tours. He is an excellent driver, a great host, and as a bonus a very interesting person. Our tour was in English but my second language is French and David is fluent. If you want the perfect day in Cape Town, ask for David and have a fantastic day.

Best tour guides for Cape Town - Jean was one of the best tour guides we have had his knowledge of history, and the area made the tour so much more interesting. We wanted to add Table top mountain to the itinerary to which he was more than happy to do. We were never rushed, and the tour ended up lasting an extra hour. Lunch was at a seaside restaurant, which was excellent and very reasonable. If at all possible, request Jean for your tour you won't be disappointed.

A day well spent - From the time I was picked up to the time I was dropped off we laughed together as a group yet at the same time got to experience a piece of heaven here in Cape Town, and Gordon made it happen. I've been on many day trips, and I can clearly tell when someone loves their job, and Gordon loves his job. He made sure everyone was extremely comfortable at all times. He even went the extra mile for some who wanted to take photos of the Protea, and I thought that was very kind. He has a vast knowledge of the different areas we have been to, and you can hear the passion in his voice for his country. I would highly recommend doing a trip with Gordon. You won't regret it.

Great guide, car, and tour - Ray was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable and easy going. The car (a late-year Marced) was very clean and very comfortable. I would highly recommend both Ray and the company Beyond Africa Safaris.

Must add to your Cape Town list! - Djiby was an amazing guide and he helped us create incredible memories! One person in our group had some mobility issues, and he was so thoughtful and professional helping to ensure she didn’t miss a thing. We would highly recommend both this tour and Djiby specifically. It was such a scenic and beautiful drive, followed by outstanding points of interest. We enjoyed every minute of the tour. Djiby was so flexible, pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. This tour and Djiby were excellent and deserve 5 stars for above and beyond service!

Cape of Good Hope Tour - We recently experienced an exceptional day tour led by Reagan Kudo, who was accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly. The meticulously planned schedule allowed us to fully enjoy each destination, including Seal Island, the Cape of Good Hope, and penguin sightseeing at Foxy Beach. Reagan added unique stops like coffee shops and an ostrich farm, enhancing the tour beyond the original package. Lunch at a restaurant with delicious food and a marina view was a highlight. Overall, the well-organized and engaging tour made for a memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a delightful and comprehensive tour.

Information Overload! - Eight hour tour was more than enough time to cover Cape Town to Good Hope. Our guide Reuben provided far more information than I wanted to hear; my head was aching! Reuben talked way more than he listened. At the beginning of the tour he outlined his itinerary. I explained that I had sent an email to his company with my preferences; he said he was never informed. I advised him that we did not want a lunch break and preferred only a coffee, preferably at a bakery cafe. At noon he informed me that we would be stopping for lunch at 1:00 PM. I reminded him that we did not want lunch, only a coffee break. He then proceeded to Cape of Good Hope where he said we could get a takeout coffee at the park’s snack bar. Once again I reminded him that I preferred a good coffee at a bakery. Another hour passed during which I ate my protein bar; by the time we reached a bakery cafe I no longer needed to eat. The coffee was good and strong but the day was already ruined. I don’t remember half of his continuous commentary but I will always remember his lack of listening!
