Highlights
 • Chen Clan Ancestral Hall-Folk Craft Museum - Also known as Chen Family Academy, this temple was constructed between 1890 and 1894. Originally a private residence for the Chen family to honor their ancestors, it now serves as the Guangdong Local Arts Museum. Visitors can admire intricate carvings in wood, ivory, brick, and more.
 • Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King - This mausoleum, dating back around 2000 years, offers a deep dive into ancient history. Located at Xianggang Hill in the north-western part of downtown, the tomb is accessed via a stone gate leading 20 meters underground. The 100-square-meter complex, made up of approximately 750 grit-stone pieces, is divided into seven chambers with various functions. The front chamber features rough, colorful cloud paintings on its walls and ceiling, while other chambers display bone ashes, clothing, arrow tips, and everyday items, providing a vivid glimpse into a luxurious ancient world.
 • Temple of the Six Banyan Trees & Flower Pagoda (Liurong Temple) - Built in 537, this temple is a significant Buddhist cultural site. It houses three large copper Buddhist statues, the largest in Guangdong Province. The top story of the pagoda contains a thousand-Buddha copper pillar from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). The 184-foot pagoda appears to have nine stories from the outside but actually has 17 levels inside. Its colorful exterior carvings have earned it the nickname “Flower Pagoda.”
 • Shamian Island - Situated on the north bank of the Pearl River’s White Goose Pool, Shamian Island is a small, oval-shaped islet covering just 0.3 square kilometers. Known for its numerous Western classical buildings, it has been designated a key protected relic of the state and is referred to as the “Ninth Sight of Guangzhou.”
 • Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street - This famous pedestrian shopping street in Guangzhou is steeped in the city’s history. Walking along it, visitors can experience the rich heritage and culture of Guangzhou.

Worthwhile day tour - I was on business trip to Guangzhou and needed a relaxing day tour of Guangzhou city. I got what exactly I wanted. This was a private tour with English speaking guide (Kevin). They provided us with a nice big van. It was very comfortable and clean. The driver was safe driver. They covered the stops they agreed upon in timely manner. Lunch, tickets for the sights are all covered in the tour cost. Our guide, Kevin, was very informative. He has a good knowledge of history. The lunch provided was a buffet in a good restaurant. Our group contained 2 Indians and 1 Brazilian. We liked the food from the restaurant. We are very happy with the tour. If you have a day for city sightseeing, you can definitely go for this tour. Ask for Kevin as your guide.

This was a Great Tour, would... -
This was a Great Tour, would thoroughly recommend if you have not been to Gunagzhou before or never scene the sites we had but just for business. It takes you round all the places in the city there is to see and you feel you have a real flavor of what the place has to offer. In all honestly the city only really has heritage wise what is on this tour, as a lot the place is new. By doing this tour you will see all you need to and feel you have discovered what there is to see. You also get a good flavor of the downtown, and the 20th Century part of the city as well. Our guide Katrina a local university student was great, she had good knowledge and buckets of enthusiasm, her English was also very good. So all in all if you don't know the city or were to start this is the tour for you!

Beautiful historical sites! - Kevin Ling was our tour guide. We learned a lot about the main historical sights in Guangzhou because of his very knowledgeable prowess. We managed to fit in a lot of places in one day. Because of this full schedule, it seemed a bit rushed and we weren't able to take our time to take some pictures. Other than that, we still enjoyed this tour. We got to see a lot of amazing and beautiful places in Guangzhou.
