Highlights
  • Obidos Village -

Located at the epicenter of Portugal’s Western region,

the charming village of

extbf{Obidos} beckons as a prime destination in Central Portugal, and we're here to guide you through all its must-see spots.

Tracing its roots back to Roman times, the name

extbf{Obidos} stems from the Latin term

opiddum, signifying a

extbf{fortified city}. Successively inhabited by the Visigoths and Moors, it was eventually reclaimed by Portugal's inaugural monarch, King Afonso Henriques, in 1148. The town's ramparts bear the imprints of its historical inhabitants, perched atop a hill offering panoramic views of the

extbf{Obidos Lagoon} on one side and the

extbf{Usseira Aqueduct} on the other.

The main thoroughfare of

extbf{Obidos} guides visitors from the

extbf{Porta da Vila} gateway to the

extbf{Castle}. The architecture along this route retains the authentic character of

extbf{Obidos}, renowned as one of the globe's most impeccably conserved medieval towns. The village's palette features a tapestry of yellow, blue, red, and grey hues.

Here lies the heart of activity, the ideal starting point for immersing oneself in the village’s enchanting allure.

  • Nazare -

extbf{Nazaré} holds a unique charm, a fusion of time-honored tradition and contemporary life that captivates all who visit.

Nestled on Portugal’s central coastline, roughly 100 km north of Lisbon and 230 km south of Porto,

extbf{Nazaré} boasts easy access, pleasant climate, and warm-hearted locals, setting the stage for an unforgettable retreat.

Beyond its allure as a vacation spot,

extbf{Nazaré} presents an inviting atmosphere for residency, business ventures, particularly maritime-related, and offers a fishing and leisure harbor, strategic business locales within the municipality, stunning beaches, and an exceptional standard of living.

Once a quintessential image of Portuguese tourism with its seaside tableau of boats and nets, fishermen toiling on the sands or returning from the sea, and women in traditional garb tending to the fish for market sale or sun-drying,

extbf{Nazaré} now draws throngs of visitors eager to witness its colossal waves.
  • Farol de Nazare -

The

extbf{Nazaré Lighthouse}, perched within the

extbf{Fort of São Miguel Arcanjo} in

extbf{Nazaré}, Western Portugal, stands as a beacon of maritime guidance. This cylindrical, vivid red, iron beacon features a service balcony and is affixed to the fort's wall. Its beacon cycles with a rhythm of two seconds illuminated, followed by one second of darkness.
