An authentic excursion on Orthodox Christianity - Mount Athos is a place off limit to women so it was to me all the more fascinating. Although it was rainy the day we went, it was a fantastic experience to see the monasteries, though from afar. But it may not be for everyone. You have to understand the history & culture of the place to appreciate its authenticity. All in all, for me it was a great day excursion from Thessaloniki. One interesting fact - I got the most “likes” on Instagram that I’ve ever had, with pictures of the Mt Athos monasteries!

excellent expierence - It was nice organized trip - good drivers, pick up in time, etc. The Mount is the place one must to see, at least from the boat.

Great to see Monasteries, fun sunbathing on boat, couldnt go by land, half day ample - Great experience to see monasteries, however half a day trip would suffice. Did not see last monastery on head (end tip) so make sure its included, you are not so close to the land as law forbids boats to go close in but if you have a good zoom on camera, you can see quite a bit of detail.

No experience to review other than no communication available. - It was early season. We booked in advance of our travels. Due to flight issues we could not make trip. We could not reach anyone at the service. So they charged us anyway. Then we received an email saying they cancelled the trip due to not enough guest. We were up set that we had to pay but no buddy else did.

Ok, just ok - Service was good. Boat a little too far from coast to see and photograph monestaries. It was anticlimactic after having been to meteora.

Did not get the tour we purchased. - Viewing Mt Athos was the only thing we can recommend. The bus driver dumped us at the harbor with little or in our case no guidance on what boat to take. We found what we thought was the right boat but the captain said we were on another tour package so sent to another boat. The other boat captain sent us back. The customer service number was a recorded Greek message-zero help. The first boat captain finally made some calls because several parties had issues. He finally said we were supposed to be on his boat but the tour program we booked was not what he was doing. They forced us to go on a tour we weren’t prepared for (beach) and didn’t make any of the other tour stops we contracted. Viator has several different tour packages offered but in the end there was only one choice actually available. I would never book thru them again. Go directly to web site of the actual tour company.
